Last day of BEDA!

IS it the last day of August already?!? Time just flew by so fast!!! I hate when it does. Even on the days that are really quite boring.

I would say I am not going to have anything productive to do, but I have plenty I can do.

I do believe I have mentioned HOL the Virtual Hogwarts website before. Well, I can go ahead and start turning in the "school" work after tomorrow. It's my way of going back to school without it actually costing anything. :)

I will also get more time to read! With having to write my blogs, film my daily videos, convert the files, edit it, render it, and then upload the viewable video to youtube, I didn't have a lot of time for just reading! Maybe after tonight I can finish Mockingjay!!! I may write about my thoughts on it later on this week.

I also need to work on my submission for the Guide To Nerdfighting book. I told them I would write a article about fandom cons for beginners. Coming from my first con, I think I would have a lot to say. I am also going to be doing some mad promotions for them. Even if I am not on the promotions team, we all need to do our part to promote the awesome that is The Guide!!!

What I am trying to say is, as much as I enjoyed doing Blogging and Vlogging everyday this month, I am going to enjoy doing different things everyday. I remember saying that I will post more than I used to after my first BEDA go around, but that didn't happen. Hopefully I will write a bit more than usual. I still have to write 50 album reviews. I should have done a few this month. Oh well. Maybe next month!!!

100th post and Kids in the Hall!

I can't believe I've written one hundred blogs.  Though it has been throughout a three year span, so it isn't that spectacular.  I get excited about stuff like that.  The fact that I had so much to say to write that many blogs is just mind-boggling!!!  I'm not at all interesting though.  My friends Lydia, Meg, Chelsea, Jessie, Clint, Taylor, Mckenzie, Melissa, They have the interesting awesome blogs!!!  Most of my blogs are just random thoughts or things that happen to me that amuse me.

I mostly write these blogs for me to go back read in the future.  If you think about it, everything we write, vlog, post, tweet, or document in some way about is like a time capsule for our future selves.

I have to put at least one thoughtful post for the month.

Anyway.  I just figured out that IFC brought back The Kids In The Hall.  No I do not mean that stupid rap group that stole the name.  There was a tv show that used to come on Comedy Central in the early 90's.  It was a mature comedy that watched when I was younger.  I remember I had a crush on Dave Foley.   I think he was my first Celebrity crush.  Then when I was a bit older and saw him on Celebrity poker, I was really disappointed that he wasn't as good looking as he had used to be. lol.

Here are a few of my favorite skits!

Anyways They have reunited and have a new spin off of the show!  It makes me so happy because I've missed that show like crazy!!!  This one however isn't like their show from the past.  It's like a regular story line tv show.  I am wondering how it will be.  So far it's pretty funny.  They pull off the same sense of humor which is awesome.

I am going to go watch more Kids In The Hall clips on Youtube!

Frustrations with words.

For some reason my mouth doesn't want to say what I want it to.  Which is why I am writing the vlog.  It didn't cooperate to the point that my camera's battery died.  It makes me so frustrated!!!

I now have to wait until my camera charges back up, but I can't really do the video I wanted to do because my brother is home.  I hate vlogging with him around because he always, I mean ALWAYS wants to interrupt me, annoy me, and ruin my video.  You're 25, Eric!  GROW UP ALREADY!!!

I haven't been in a good mood since we got on the road from the trip.  I got such bad motion sickness.  Our van was so cramped too, so I couldn't find a position that made me feel better.  The only positions I had were sit up straight and lean to my left.  Neither one helped.

The last thing I need is for Eric to annoy the crap out of me.

I'm going to go.  I've ranted enough for one day.

Super tired!!!

I sure about 95% of people can agree that they don't like getting up super early no matter what the circumstance.  The only time I enjoyed get up early was for marching band and winter guard competitions.  I'd be excited for this trip if I didn't feel alone.  If people make conversation with make and actually try and make me feel welcome, then maybe I'll get excited for this trip.  Until then I'm not looking forward to it. I'll have Mockingjay and my zune to keep me occupied on the long trip to Tennessee.

I just finished decking out my purse with buttons!  Most of them are my Lauren Fairweather buttons I ordered offline.  I also have all of my Alex Day buttons (sans sonic *sad face*), My Accio-Potter button Alex gave me, my two linkin Park and Gir buttons, and buttons I bought from Swish and Flick, Whimsic alley, The Parselmouths at infinitus.  I also have the Acendio button that they gave us in our registration bag.  I'll take a picture of it soon and let you all see.  It goes along with the butterfly that's originally on my purse to begin with.  It's pretty rad.

Can you guys tell I'm running out of things to talk about?  I thought so.

Busy day reflects a not so long blog.

My mom thinks I'm downstairs.  I guess she didn't see me go up the stairs.  Oh well.

The days I end up having to go into work early are always the days that I have to get a lot of stuff done.  I need to wrap a book so I can send it off.  I have to write this blog.  I've already edited and rendered my vlog for the day.  All I have to do is upload that.  I need to buy headphones before I actually clock into work, and I need to pack first thing when I get home.  Too much!!!

I'm hoping that I can write my blog and at least film my vlog for both my channel and the Seven Awesome APs channel.  I love being apart of collab channels, but I feel bad for my friends that have to watch craptastic videos because of my time restraints.  Sometimes I love having a bit of a life, but it cuts out some of the stuff that I love doing.  Vlogging and blogging are things I love doing, and now that I have a feel for how I like to do it, I don't think I'll stop doing either one of these things.  Granted it won't be every day like this month, but it will be more often than I have been doing before.

That's all I really have to say!

A heads up and more.

I have work tomorrow and that is the only day I work.  I really need a second job!  I don't work Saturday or Sunday because I am going on a retreat with my Sunday school class.  I was mainly going because I though the only two friends I have in that class were going.  Turns out they aren't.  This is going to be awkward for me.  Either way I am still going to video as much as possible because I'm a vlogger and that's what I do.  I am looking forward to the horse back riding though. :)

Got to look on the bright side of things!

I haven't added anything to my since last time.  I might put some more pictures up tonight.  It depends on how long I want to read.  :)

I want to finish Mockingjay before I leave Saturday.  I would like to finish it tonight, but I know that won't happen.  I will get too distracted what with editing and uploading my 7NAP video and thinking of ideas for tomorrow VEDA video.  I'm in the home stretch for both VEDA and BEDA, and I'm glad for that because I have no idea what the hell to talk about anymore.

On that note.  Hope you all have a great night.

I love making friends!

I have never been one to make friends.  I will be honest, I tried my best to avoid it.  Every time I became friends with someone when I was growing up they either moved away, changed, or just became friends with other people and shunned me away.  I really never knew what it was like to have a true friend for life.  When I finally have a friend that I would consider close, I always kept them at a distance because I was afraid they would shun me away like people in the past would.  I still kind of feel like I don't have a really close friend, but I am learning to stop pushing people away.

It wasn't until marching band that I found people that actually wanted to be my friends.  I gain two close friends out my marching band experience.  Then I graduated, and they both were still in high school.  It got kind of hard to keep in touch and stay friends when you aren't around each other everyday like it used to be.  Now I barely talk to either of them, and it breaks my heart.

When I found Nerdfighteria, I realized you don't have to be near each other to be really good friends.  I have some really awesome friends, and I haven't met them in real life.  Hopefully someday we will have the honor of meeting, but until that day comes I am still going to talk with them.

Esther Earl (Rest In Awesome) was a nerdfighter who battled with cancer up until late last night.  She loved life and loved her family and friends even more.  Her wish for Make-A-Wish Foundation was to have all of her closest friends together in the same room.  As simple as that.  She loved her friends and she hung onto them.  I wish that I could be the same way.

I think since hearing about how awesome she was got me thinking that I better start showing my love for my friends because you never know what could happen.

Best wishes and DFTBA.

Catching Fire.

I have reached part 3 of Catching Fire.  I just can't stop reading!  I just stopped to take a break and realized I haven't written my blog for the day.  So this blog will probably seem a bit rushed.  Sorry about that in advanced.

I really can't wait to read Mockingjay.  It now sits in my book shelf "mocking" me in a sense.  I just hope that I can finish before I fall asleep tonight.  I say that all the time when I want to finish a book, but my body always wants to crumple my reading dreams.  lol

I added a bit more to my wall last night, and I forgot to post a picture of it.

I think I'm going to make it a thing.  If I add to my wall, I'll take a picture of it when I'm finished for the day.  I don't have the patience to do it all in one day, nor do I have the attention span. To be quite honest, I have no idea what I'm going to put up next... I'm not really good with decisions.  I remember when I first tried to hang thing on my wall.  It was all posters from Metal Edge magazine (Which I am so pissed that I can't find it anywhere anymore.  If they discontinued print, I'll be even more pissed!), but I never finished.  Those poster were pretty big too, so it didn't take a lot of them to cover up my wall.  I just really bored with hanging them up.

I think this will help me completely decorate my wall.  With my luck, I'll have to take everything down the moment I complete it.  lol.

Anyway, I am going to stop typing.

I have no life.

Actually I should say that South Carolina is restricting me from having the life I would like.

In my utopia of a life, I'd live close to all of my Harry Potter, Doctor Who, and youtube friends, and I'd be able to visit them on a regular basis.  Wrock concerts and cons would be just a hour away.  I would also be able to vlog without people looking at me like I'm a crazy person.

Unfortunately, I don't live in such a glorious place.  I live in hick town.  Not fun.
Whatever.  It's their loss if they don't want to like awesome stuff, and I'm still going to talk to myself in front of a camera whether you like it or not.

The reason why I bring this up is, I would be at a Mockingjay release party right now if there was one within my able limit of transportation.  I think the nearest one is probably in either North Carolina or Georgia.  I'm not sure.  South Carolina may be one of the cheapest states to live in, but it sucks to be a nerd that wants to be active in the various fandoms while living in such a culture deprived state.

Enough of my ranting now.

Instead of completing Catching Fire or cleaning my room, I ended up watching Righteous Television skits on youtube.  I get so distracted some times.

Anyways, in order for me to post on time, I better stop typing! :)

The blank wall finally getting filled!

The main wall in my room has been blank for way too long, so I have finally decided to decorate it.  This is what I have so far!  I'm getting there.  I think I might have to print more photos though.

I woke up late this morning.  I normally can wake up right when my alarm goes off, but I guess I was jamming to it.  I use Starkid's "Liam's got a phone call"  *Youtube video for an example*

Yeah it's awesome, but I guess I'll need to change it if it isn't waking me up anymore.

I love Nerdfighteria.   It is probably the most accepting group of people I have ever had the pleasure of know of.  Is it sad that my first time ever meeting nerdfighters was at Infinitus?  I would really love to meet nerdfighters in my area though.  At least I would know I'm not the only one. :)

Every time I listen to Reel Big Fish's "Beer", I want to drink beer.  Where's the beer?!?!

This blog got away from me really.  Sorry for the randomness of it.

I love getting mail!

I especially love it when I get things I wasn't expecting until after the weekend!

I ordered prints of picture from Infinitus, Awanita, and a lot of my photography, and I wasn't expecting it until Monday because it was suppose to be shipped to me within three to five business days. I ordered them and they shipped it Thursday, and I received them today. They look so good! I am happy with the way they turned out! I not have the task of putting them on my wall and finishing what I started with decorating my wall. :) I love when things are ahead of schedule.

I also got a letter from google about how they want to advertise my blog or something of that nature. I use the ad-sense feature on my blog, and they want to help. I'm still not exactly sure what it is about. I will probably blog about it later when I figure out!

Well, I am off to Jack in The Box to get a grilled chicken sandwich. Then I am off to work.

The waiting game.

I am currently playing it now while I wait for my video to convert to a editable version. Normally I'd take my time, but I'm working on a time deadline. I have until 2 to finish this video or else I fail VEDA.

I bet you are wondering why until 2? Because I am going to get a ride to the theater from my mom because I don't feel like sweating. I also want to watch Scott Pilgrim again before I have to clock in before work! :) My mom and I both get off at 11, but seeing as how her work place is 45 minutes away from mine there is now way I'd get home in time to post it before midnight!

Anywho, I think I am going to take the time before Scott Pilgrim starts to either finish reading Goblet of Fire, or finish some of my HOL homework! I think that if I were to replace my high school self, I would do all of my homework and on time! It's a shame that is not possible. :(

The video has finished converting, so I bid you all a fond adieu.

Adopt a word, save the language!

With this title, I feel Peter when he tells Hiro to "Save the cheerleader, save the world".

But in all seriousness, our culture is ruining the language as we speak. In my case, as I type really. Net speak being a big thing now. It really does bug me when I see people replacing you and are with u and r. It shows how lazy we are becoming. I kind of feel bad for teachers having to grade essays. I know my essays weren't that entertaining, but at least I tried to make it as close to grammatically correct as possible.

It happens a lot on the internet. I don't know why people feel the need to shorten words. I also can't understand why people would (and this is just to reference) TyPe ThErE SeNtEnCe'S LiKe ThIs. It is rather annoying to look at, and takes up twice the amount of time to type it.

I digressed a lillte from what I was originally wanting to talk about. I found this through my friend Bevin. (Team FBO!) It is a website that lets you browse through words and adopt as many words as you want! You can find it HERE!

So far I have adopted the word divinipotent which means powerful in intuition or divination. Awesome word right?

I just thought I'd share that little gem with everyone.

Pandora Radio is amazing!!!

I can't believe I just now figured that out!

Minus the headache that I had a little while ago, today has been a fun day. I went to the grocery store with my mom. We bought cherries, and this was the first time I've had a cherry that isn't in bright red syrup. They are so delicious! I wonder if they would taste good with nutella...

I also went to the bank to deposit my money from my last two paychecks. It's about time! I tend to spend more when I have actual money on me as opposed to just my bank card. though most of it was for lunch or dinner at work on the days I had to walk to work. I normally bring my lunch, but when my mom was at the beach, it made it harder to do so. Most of the stuff I take to lunch has to be refrigerated, so thirty minutes in the sun swinging back and forth wouldn't be so good for it.

I miss all of the Infinitus and Final battle friends of mine. I just thought I'd put that out there.

Feeling sentimental?

Would anyone judge me for having to spell out sentimental out in the blogging area to see if I've spelled it right?

So yesterday I was looking at a JCPenny's magazine that my mom got in the mail, and saw that one of the Junior's shirts had a skull and crossbones on it. I liked it and said to myself, "I would have worn this years ago...if it wasn't for the heart eyes." It got me thinking that the world has changed so much!

In middle school and high school I'd wear or draw a skull and cross bones and people would think that I was either an angry person, morbid, or down right evil. Now it seems like it's normal to wear it now. I have been ridiculed, teased, and put down for being a nerd in school, and now it is high fashion. I have been played video games since I can remember, and have been made fun for doing so because I was a girl and girls weren't suppose to like video games. Now I hear all of these girls that say they play video games, but I mostly just hear them talk about Rock band and guitar hero. (I'm not talking about the serious girl gamers like me though.) (I will say this. Rock Band is fun and I do like playing it, BUT Frequency and Amplitude are by far my favorite Rhythm based games out there. Second is DDR.) Anyways, In just a few years, things that I treasured for being unique and different is now the "it" thing, and I'm not sure if I quite understand what is going on.

Am I the only one that thinks that? Has anybody else though, "What the hell is going on?" I'd like to hear people's opinion and I'd like to hear what else has went from being a social no-no to being the new thing.

Quizzes and I don't play well together

Especially when they are the kind of lightning round kind of quizzes.

I signed up for a website last week called HOL - Virtual Hogwarts. It is pretty much what it says. I sign up a first year student an do actual homework to work my way up to being a professor (if I wanted to.) This is pretty much the coolest premise for a interactive website I've ever heard of. It's also a great way to fill up my spare time (you know, apart from my video making and blogging!). I got sorted into Ravenclaw (YES!!!), and I decided that I would like to try out for the Quidditch team. The way that they play quidditch is you have to answer questions to get certain things to happen. It's really hard to explain because I don't quite get it yet. Anyway, the way you have to try out for the Ravenclaw team is to get 100 points by botting. Botting is kind of like a lightning speed questions round. You are given a Harry Potter related question and you are given two clues as to what it could be and a short amount of time to answer the questions. The only problem is, they only have about 4 or 5 bots to get these points on. So you have to earn these points by beating out other people. I am just not a fast typer. :(

My brother bought pizza and he isn't sharing. :( I might just steal a piece, or a fraction of a piece.

Why is it that...

...every time I want to start a work out plan (or restart it), I end up getting sick or get a severe cough? I wanted and planned to start P90X again tomorrow because work had slowed back to where I can actually work out in the morning without having to worry about going in at 9 o'clock. (Stupid kid shows *shakes fists*) This morning I woke up feeling fine, then my throat out of the blue felt like someone scratched the hell out of it. I've been coughing up my lungs since, but I don't think you all wanted to read about that.

Moving on!

I'm currently watching the DVD that comes with Reel Big Fish's "Our Live Album Is Better Than Your Live Album" (Technically listening to because my back is to the tv, but that is besides the point.), and every time I watch it, I want to see them live in person even more!!! They are just totally awesome.

Anyways, I need to go upload my video and pack all of my clothes that I'm putting into storage into its container.

Aeternitas becoming a reality?

So my mom was putting something in my closet and she saw the Aeternitas flier that I got from Infinitus. She said it was cute. I told her that it was a HP con I was thinking about going to up around Massachusetts. She was like, "that would be really cool to go to." I might actually get to go, and my mom might actually come with me!!! That would be super awesome!!!

Anyways. I have to go. Sorry about the short blog. I am heading to the theater early today because (1) my mom has to work today, (2) it looks like it's going to rain today, and (3) I want to see Scott Pilgrim before I have to clock in!

Friday, August 13, 2010

I met Scott Pilgrim today, but he was totally different in RL.

So I normally don't promote my videos on my blogs because like my friend Lydia, I like to keep them as two separate entities.

But I need my blog friends opinion on this as well.

If you want to watch the video go HERE, but I am going to make a more condensed form of the situation now.

This guy (Whose name is Scott Pilgrim) came in wanting the poster for the Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. The reason why is because people have been commenting to him about what an awesome movie HE had. He's been using the movie to promote himself (He's a DJ after all). HE has no idea what this movie is about, and didn't even know that it is based off of the graphic novel series. I had already signed up for the poster months ago fangirling over it and already having read the series. Ihe is willing to pay 40 bucks for a poster that is going to be sun-bleached and in not great shape when he can pay 20 dollars for the exact same poster in great condition. I told him I would think about it. Should I make this deal?

I just feel like I would be pretty much turning my back on a series that I love and handing it over to the forces of evil.

Am I just being stupid?

I'm a fan, and a nerd and I don't like seeing clueless people ruining the reputation of such an awesome series.

Anyways. Other than that I had a pretty boring day.

I'm going to go. I kind of have a headache, which is pretty much the only reason why I repeated a video topic. Sorry friends.

DFTBA and best wishes!

Parody covers

While waiting for "Dinner For Schmucks" to start, there was a commercial for an ABC Family show on our Ad projector. I think it was for Hellcats, but is beyond the point. The point of this post is the song that was playing in the background. It was "First Kiss" by 3OH!3 and Ke$ha (Which I don't really care for Ke$ha), but instead of singing the original version, I start singing Alex Carpenter, Jason Munday, and Kristina Horner's version of the song. This got me thinking of all of the other times that this has happened. I have come to the conclusion that most of the parody/cover/reworked songs that I have listened to, I like ten times better than the original. I have a few examples.

First the one I just talked about

Skyway Flyer's "California Dorks" (Parody of Katy Perry's "California Gurls")

Shane Dawson's version of "Telephone" by Lady Gaga

And Brittani Louise Taylor's "Everything Is Going To Be Okay" (A more inspiring version of Miley Cyrus's "Party In The USA")

Just a side note that Brittani also did a rendition of "3" by Brittany Spears entitled "I'm Not Easy" which I also like

There are plenty more out there, but I don't have the time.

I guess the only why you can get me to listen to a "Mainstream" song is to make a parody version that is ten times better than the original.
Which I am going to make a side note about the first video. Alex Carpenter, Jason Munday, and Kristina Horner are some of the nicest people I've met that is of celebrity status. (Well weblebrity is more like it, but that isn't the case.) Ke$ha doesn't seem like she would be that pleasant to meet. Just saying what's on my mind.

I better go. Here's to hoping my brother get's off of Xbox live for at least twenty minutes so I can post my VEDA video. If I fail this project, I'm putting sole fault on him. :)

Hershey kisses vs being a slacker. (BEDA # 10)

I love being in the Orchestra at my church. Why you ask? Because when we have rehearsals on Wednesdays, they provide snacks for us to munch on. This week it was Hershey Kisses!!! Hershey Kisses are by far my favorite chocolate candies EVER!!! You know I got about two hands worth! :)

I was being a total slacker today. I was going to try and tidy up my room (A statement I never get to say because my room is always in the constant state of disaster), but instead I decide to read Goblet of Fire and take a nap before church. I always tend to be lazy on my days off. That's probably why they are so boring all the time.

Tomorrow I am hoping beyond hope that our theater will let us (the employees) preview Scott Pilgrim VS. The World. I want to see that movie so bad!!! I've read the graphic novels years ago, and I have been excited about this movie coming out since it was announced! I am totally going to have a fangirl moment when I watch it. :)

Ten blogs. Here's to hoping I can do 20 more. :)

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

This is not the blog I intended it to be.

So I had an idea for today's blog earlier today, but I decided to take a nap, and now I can't remember. It sure was a good nap though.

It seems that every time that I'm gone for a week or my mom is gone for a week I tend to fall completely off track with weight watchers. It wasn't until my mom got back from the beach that I realized how much her presence with my weight loss actually helps. When she is around I tend to eat more sensibly because I don't want her to think that I am wasting her money (being a member of WW doesn't come free.), but when I'm by myself I can't help myself. I tend to over eat, and it's mostly because of boredom.

I am still reading Goblet Of Fire, and I am on page 239. I am not one of these readers that can read a book fast. I love soaking in as much as I can when I read which is probably why I didn't do so hot on seven books seven days. My friend wants to do it again a week before the first movie comes out. She wanted me to help with the facebook event, so I told her I would help but I probably wouldn't be able to participate because of NaNoWriMo. She said that I could spare a week, but I don't think I can. Last year maybe considering I didn't have a job and the only thing that held me back was an annoying clingy ex boyfriend. (Which that month was the deciding factor on me not wanting to be in a relationship with him. Oh well.) I want my nanowrimo story to be so good (I know that the nano version of the story is going to be pure suck.) because I am actually thinking if it is good enough to publish it. Who knows what could happen. :)

Anyways. I'm going to go back to bed.

A Little bit of a rant.

My brother is such a hog when it comes to the internet.

I went to go upload vlog for the day and he starts complaining because it is going slow and blames it on me. I haven't even been home all day, so he has had ample time to play his stupid game online.

I would completely understand him getting angry if he was paying for the internet, but he doesn't. He has no right to get pissy. I swear he is a constant PMSer.

*Rant over*

I have been away all day. Since I didn't have to work, I took my opportunity to escape from home. :)

My mom got back from the beach last night. She got me a couple of shirts (Which I told her not to because I have no room in my closet for them.), one of those mugs you put in the freezer, a Dolphin keychain, and a necklace with a dolphin made of jade. I just found out that my mom likes stones and gems and stuff like that. It would explain why I have such a fond liking to them.

I am feeling tired from all the ice cream I ate. I am going to go upload my video now (or at least try).

Fortune eater. (BEDA #6)

I am currently eating a fortune cookie as I write this blog. They kind of taste like vanilla wafers to me. :) Vanilla wafers were always my favorite part of banana pudding.

Sorry for that random introductory.

I had a weird dream last night that I randomly went to Camp Awanita at night. They were going to play Roman Soldiers (A pretty fun game to play at night), but only people over the age of 20 could play because the younger people just used it as a way to make out with each other. I don't know. But it was in the middle of August, so I started freaking out because I didn't write a blog or make a vlog that day. So I tried desperately to record a video on my phone and send a sentence to blogger, but there is no service up there. I was in the middle of my video when Benny (the staff parent) sees that I have my phone out, and disqualifies me from the game for using a light source to find where I'm going. So I leave Chateau (the lodge it was played in), and all of a sudden it is daylight and I'm on top of hummer hill. That is where the dream ends.

I don't understand it either.

Anyways I am going to go clean and get ready for work. :)

Thinking ahead.

I normally like thinking ahead when I do things. I tried thinking ahead for VEDA, but I was so caught up in The Final Battle that I forgot. I'm pretty much just going on a whim with what I want to talk about. Though now for me vlogging is like talking to a group of people, so it comes sort of natural.

There are things, however, that I can't just do on a whim. Take for example writing a novel.

I participated in NaNoWriMo last year, and it was pretty fun. Though I was stressing so much because I just thought of everything on the spot, and it turned out to be a really bad story that I could not save no matter how many time I revise it.

This year I am going to do it again, but I am already thinking ahead of what I want to write and what the story is going to be.

Most of the ideas I get from dreams. The particular story I'm going to write is a recurring dream I've been having for about 3 years now. I'm so excited because this is the one story I want to make perfect.

Enough of that.

I have had the strange urge to dance, so I am going to feed that urge!

Arcade Fire and floating head boy band

So tonight Youtube is going to broadcast Arcade Fire live. I love Arcade Fire, so I will definitely be watching!!! I first started listening to them about three or four years ago when they played "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)" on Later with Jools Holland. They are so awesome!!!

So today I had a day off, so I pretty much relaxed...until I went to go record my video. It took forever. I would guess it took about 40 minutes to get it right. I should have edited it, but with movie maker messing up, I couldn't. I also had to make my 7NAP video a one take video as well. I really need a better computer so I can get a better editing software!

I figured out the video I wanted to post here was. All I had to do was type into google, "Floating head boy band". It's a music video for the song, "I Feel Better" by the band Hot Chip. It is really weird and kind of creepy after about 50 seconds, but that is what makes it so funny to me. Maybe I just have a really messed up sense of Humor. ;D

Hope you all have a great night!

Mudkips? (BEDA #3)

This post has nothing to do with mudkips. :)

I really hate it when guys try and be nice to a girl in a friendly way, but the girl takes it as a sign that he likes her and wants to date her. It's stupid. Especially since it's illegal for her...

I know some interesting people.

It is really hard to have a work life, a social life, and a internet social life and try and read all seven Harry Potter books in seven days. It is almost impossible.

I just crammed so much stuff for myself this month now didn't I?

I really wish that I would have worked as a summer staff at camp this year! I missed it so much, and considering all the people that were on staff, I would have loved it more than my previous two years!!!

If you haven't watched this yet, you need to. It's pretty hilarious! I watched it at work the other day, and laughed! There was another video that I watched that was even funnier, but I can't remember what it was called or where to find it. If I find it, I'll post it tomorrow.

Self realizations (BEDA #2)

I have figured out how I want my blog to work out for this month.

Every time I make a video I realize that I always forget to include something. That's the way it is for everything in my life. I always tend to forget one important thing when I pack for a trip. I forget that I have to do something moments before it is due (note when this blog is published...).

It's just the way things are, but surprisingly enough, I haven't forgotten a single thing in my video today. Who would have thunk it?

Well considering I only had that story from last night, and the telling people to thumbs up Nina's video (DO IT HERE!), I didn't have much to talk about.

I finished Chamber of Secrets today, and got halfway through Prisoner of Azkaban. I knew doing 7Books7Days would be difficult for me, not only because I'm a slow reader, but also because I get so easily distracted. I swear I have some form of ADHD. Work and having to walk to and from work doesn't help much either. I don't complain about that one much because it puts money in the bank. :)

Either way if I don't end up completing this task of reading all HP books in seven days, I am going to continue reading them after wards so I don't stop at a weird place. I don't like the thought of quitting.

That's all I've got for today!

Best Wishes

Starting BEDA a day late but hey I try.

It's that time of the year again. I loved doing Beda (In April) last year. It was quite a fun experience. This year I am doing both Veda and Beda because I have nothing better to do with my life. That and I haven't blogged in a while and I miss it. :)

Anyways.

I have yet to make a blog post about Infinitus! This one is three weeks in the making.

Infinitus was by far my favorite week ever in my whole 21 and a half years of living. I hate to say it, but it tops my Senior year band trip.
I met so many cool people while I was there. Some of them youtube "famous", some people from Accio-potter (One of which I was hanging out with and didn't realize she worked there until she sent me an email shortly after.), and met all of the orchestra, cast, and crew of the final battle.
I was almost afraid I wasn't going to make it there because someone I couldn't get in contact with the person I was supposedly going with. It freaked me out, so like the paranoid narcissist that I am, I posted it on Facebook. Luckily Lena saw it, and reacted immediately! She booked a plane trip for me.

If nothing, this weekend was a bunch of firsts for me. My first plane ride, my first trip by myself, my first time going to a convention, my first time meeting people I met online, my first time going to a wizard rock concert, my first time playing in a musical, my first time taking a train, and my first time paying for almost everything (I still have to pay back the other half of the plane ticket).

It just shows how much I have yet to do in my life.

The main reason for my going was for the Final Battle. It was stressful, demanding, tiring, and frustrating at times, but it was totally worth it for the final product!!! It went so well, and it was so well received! It was awesome to hear the reactions people had to it. They cheered, booed, gasped at all the right times. It was amazing!!!

The best news I heard there was Mallory (The Director) say after the performance, "Let's do it again at LeakyCon!". At first a lot of us were questioning this. We weren't sure if she was being serious, but word got around that indeed we will be performing it again at LeakyCon Next summer!!! I am so excited! I already know my plans for July 13-17 of next year! I have already started saving up. This year is good because I have a lot longer of a time to save up than I did for Infinitus (I got my job about 6 months before Infinitus and I also have to factor in the fact I paid close to $300 for driving school and $200 for registration.) I will be better prepared this time!

I really can't explain how awesome Infinitus was except that I had an absolute blast. Afterward I had extreme Post Potter Depression because I miss everyone, and I miss the awesomeness. I am now anxiously awaiting LeakyCon, and wondering what amazing things will happen there.

I will never forget Infinitus for as long as I live.

Anyways I am going to and try finish reading Chamber of Secrets for 7books7days (Where myself and others are reading all seven Harry Potter books in seven days.)

Good night everyone and best wishes!!!

20 things to do in a year

This blog is in correlation with the most recent video I posted on my youtube. It basic is twenty things I want to achieve in one year. It starts today, and goes until July 1st of next year. If you want to see my video for that, click here. If not, here’s my explanation of each thing.

1.) Write a Song – I have always wanted to write a song, it was just for lack of equipment that I never did. Now I have my own computer, a piano, basic knowledge of how to play that piano, and a lot to write about.

2.) Audition for the Real World – It has been a dream of mine since I was about 8-ish to be on the Road Rules. Unfortunately they canceled Road Rules, so I have to go with the next best thing. It would mostly be so I’d have a change of participating in the Challenge. :)

3.) Complete the 50 book challenge before my birthday day plus 25 more – That was is pretty much simple. I like to read, so why not read as much as I can?

4.) Meet my hero – If you didn’t already know, Margaret Cho is my hero and my idol. I would probably die a happy person if I just got to say hello to her.

5.) Win Nanowrimo again – Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month, and takes place in November. I won it last year barely, but this time I want to be fully prepared and write a way better story than last year’s!

6.) Watch every episode of all my favorite shows – There are only a good handful of shows that I actually like, but most of them I haven’t gotten to see every single episode due to special circumstance. That is going to change very soon! I will probably post a list of all the shows I will be watching.

7.) Go to at least 5 concerts – I love concerts. Who doesn’t love them? I only get to see maybe one concert a year if I’m lucky. This will be the year of a multitude of music extravaganzas!

8.) Listen to and review 50 albums – I had the chance to review Ben Lee’s “Rebirth Of Venus” last year a week before it came out, and I absolutely loved doing that. This will be one of the things I do in the year to see what I could possibly do with my life.

9.) Stop drinking soda – Soda is gross and bad for the health. I need to stop drinking it!

10.) Ask someone out in person – I am such a pussy when it comes to telling people my true feelings. I have always resorted to telling them online, but I am in that stage of my life where I just feel like changing everything.

11.) Go to my first fandom convention – This one I am kind of cheating on. I am going to Infinitus in TWO WEEKS!!! Though I am a bit worried because I haven’t been able to get in touch with the person I am going with, and we were going to do it road trip style.

12.) Learn a new instrument – I love learning to play a new instrument. It makes me feel so successful. That and it would be really impressive if I ever wanted to join a band that would want someone to play different instruments!

13.) Booth for the entire year without missing a day – If you haven’t heard of or visited Dailybooth, it is a picture taking site where you try and take a picture every day. I’d like to complete an entire year. Now that I have a cell phone, I have no excuse for missing a day.

14.) Buy a car – It’s the one thing I want more than anything! I hate having to ask people for a ride. It’s embarrassing.

15.) Get my License – same thing with the car!

16.) Run a mile and a 5K – I love working out, but running has always been one of those things that I have always wanted to do, but physically couldn’t. I just want to be able to say I’ve ran an entire mile and 5K without having to walk.

17.) Learn to juggle – I had to include one silly thing. Plus I have always wanted to learn. I think it is a pretty neat party trick.

18.) To keep my room clean for the entire year – This may not seem like a hard task, but you can ask any of my irl friends. They know it is really hard for me to keep my rook clean for longer than a few days, and it takes even longer to clean it.

19.) Watch fifty new movies – This one is kind of my way of using my job to my advantage. I work at the movie theaters and one of the perks is I get to see movies for free. Why not put it to good use.

20.) Vlog Everyday August – I participated in Beda last year, and I found it to be pretty fun. Now that I have a computer of my own, I can now make sure I get to post every day. I think it would be really cool to vlog every day. I’m not saying it will be easy, but it would be an interested experience.
Well, that was my list of things I want to do in the upcoming year. Hopefully when I report back next I will have completed all of them!!!

Until next time

This is a refresher summer...

This is the first summer in two years that I'm not going away for two months. It's a weird feeling to not be packing up ten weeks worth of clothes and random junk I'll never use.

It's like my welcome back to a lazy summer, but it won't be that lazy considering all I am going to be doing this summer.

I still have my job at the theater, and it is starting to get a little stressful. The District Manager just moved to Anderson which is about a forty five minute drive to Easley. This is NOT a good thing. This man is strict and he is also a douche bag which makes it worse. He is one of those guys that fires you for a very minuscule reason. He made all of these rules for us to follow that make no sense what-so-ever. We normally would ask people if they would like butter, but he told us not to ask anymore because it will take too much time. I tested this theory out, and it actually took up more time. People love butter here. You'd think it were going out of style. There is rarely anyone who doesn't want butter on their popcorn (and if you are one of these people, thank you so much!). He also wants us to up-sale everytime!!! That takes too much time, and when you have a crowd of over two hundred people it is just not worth it. I'm sorry to complain, but whenever the manager of the theater is stressed out to the point of tears, you know there has to be something wrong.

Infinitus is only 44 days (I am writing this at midnight so it is technically Tuesday now.), and I finally have music to learn for the Final Battle. It is a lot of pages, but I think I can get my parts down! I love a challenge, and this just excites me more. If any of you follow Alan Lastufka's Blog, then you would have read that he donated $1,000 to the fund that we are trying to raise. That just made everyone's day that is involved with the musical, especially Mallory and Lena! Now all we have to raise is less than $500 (I'm guessing it's less because of him asking people to help donate). All of the money we are raising is going to building the set and to rent instruments (mainly the one's I am going to be playing.) If we raise more than is needed, then it is going straight to the Harry Potter Alliance. I just think that is awesome!!! I am really excited for everyone to see the finished product! If you would like to donate then you can go to http://thefinalbattle2010.blogspot.com/

Hopefully this summer I will get to reconnect with the friends that I haven't gotten to hang out with because of going to camp two summers in a row.
Maybe not going to Awanita this years is going to be the best thing for me. At least I hope it is!

Since Alan helped out the Final Battle, I am going to promote his single "Erase This" It's the least I can do. He is an amazing person for that.

Well I'm off to bed.

Much love!

I've won at life!!!

Or at least a contest!

I enter contest all the time, and I have yet to win one... Until now!!!

Jessica Brody was holding a contest for her new book "The Karma Club". It was to get people to watch the book trailer. Each person was given a special link, and how ever many clicks that link got the person got that many entries. I don't know how many I got, but it was enough for me to win a 25 dollar itunes card. It's not much, but I still won something. I would have rather won that instead of the grand prize because I'm not a big fan of the flip cams, and it helps me grow my music collection (Which is at a little over seven thousand songs!). Not only did I get the gift card, I also got a book mark and a sneak peek of the book which Jessica Brody signed. I find that pretty cool.

Anyway, It has been a while since I last posted (and has anyone noticed that I say that in every blog post I write?).

I have started to drive. I am no where near being able to afford a car and insurance yet, but I thought it would be a good thing to learn in advance. It's also kind of a good thing as well because my mom is getting herself pretty much a full body physical, and she needs someone to be able to drive her if needed. Yesterday she had a colonscopy, and was heavily sedated. She actually waited until I was a little comfortable driving to have this done. So I wasn't as nervous driving her as if she were to have it done a week ago. I've only been driving for two weeks and she was comfortable and trustworthy enough to have me drive her in a incoherent state. That actually made me more confident that nervous or scared. I love my mom. She is awesome.
Hopefully I will be able to go for my drivers license in a few weeks. That's my plan anyway.

Well I'm going to go. I hope everyone is having a great month. I hope to blog again soon!

Much love and DFTBA

Loving to read, and win books.

You all know (Or should know) that I love to read...A LOT!

So when I heard there was a girl hosting a contest to win books, I immediately went to sign up.

I think it is the coolest thing ever! The way it is set up is you have to fill out a form. and you get entry points by doing little things like posting a blog about the contest or tweeting about it.

So if you are interesting in this contest it is called March Madness Contest and you can find it HERE

The Final Battle.

For most of you that are friends with me on Facebook or watch one of my many collab channels, you know that I am in the orchestra pit for the musical "The Final Battle"

I bet some of you are wondering, "What in the heck is The Final Battle?" The Final Battle is a musical based on the last 200 pages of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows. It is going to be performed at Infinitus 2010, which is a Harry Potter convention happening in July at the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida. The scripted is being written by Mallory Vance. The music is being composed by Lena Gabrielle Weinstein, of the Butterbeer Experience.

Well the reason why I brought this up is because I just finished listening to Act 1's music, and I officially love it! I can't wait to hear Act 2's music. The more I listen to the music, the more and more I get excited and pumped for July to come faster!

Infinitus, Here I come!

I want to be a challenge girl

Since I was about 7 or 8, I have been watching the Real World/Road Rules Challenges. I remember watching these shows and saying to myself, "I want to be able to do those awesome things!" Since then it was my life's mission to be on the Real World or Road Rules (I mostly wanted to be on Road Rules since it was based on doing challenges.), so that maybe one day I'll get to be on one of their Challenges.

I still really want to be on one of these shows. Not for the attention, not for the money, but for the experience. I'm one of those people that want to do weird crazy disgusting things, and do something that nobody else will get to do or want to do in their lifetime. I love being challenged physically and mentally in a competitive environment. I love being able to prove that I can do better than what others think I can. I'd like to prove that to myself as well. I'd be perfect for that kind of show!

I know with the way reality tv is now-a-days, I wouldn't have a shot in Hades to get on these shows.

Which makes me a sad Alicia. :(

It doesn't mean I'm still not going to audition!

I'm thinking about applying to be on the Real World. I can't audition for Road Rules because they canceled the show. Obviously they didn't know a good show when they saw it because they get rid of Road Rules to replace it with Jersey Shore. Enough said.

If they come out with a third Fresh Meat Challenge, I might apply for that because it would get me right into the Challenge!!!

I am such a dreamer, I know.

I bet you are wondering why I brought this topic up.

Well the other night I had a dream having to do with it. It was based on the challenge except it had a few friends of mine, some famous Youtuber's (The only one's I can remember at the moment is Johnny Paula, Jory Caron, and Haley G Hoover), The 7NAP girls, and myself. It was a really cool dream. I might make a short story out of it.

The dream made me happy, and I was sad to know that it was just a dream.

So now you all know my secret not-so-shameful, but completely unreachable dream.

I want to be one of the people on the Real World Road Rules Challenges doing crazy stuff that normal people wouldn't be caught dead doing.

Is that so bad?

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Oh wow I'm finally posting.

It's been a while.

I probably say that every time I post a blog here.

Sorry.

Anyways, life has been interesting the past few months.

Since I last posted I've...

Finish Nanowrimo. I wrote 50,058 words! I am in the process of revising it because I think it could have a lot of potential. This is actually the first story I have ever finished before. I've probably started over fifteen stories in my lifetime. One out of every fifteen stories. That's not a good statistic.

Recently I broke up with Casey. The feelings just weren't there for me anymore. I was beginning to feel trapped, and the relationship aspect was fading and wearing thin. In other words, I enjoy being single too much. Is that a bad thing?

I've started an idea for videos on my youtube that has to do with my love for music. It's called Music Tuesday. It's were I will mention two or three bands that I think are awesome. They can be signed to a mainstream label, or an unsigned band.

I've been trying to figure out what I was going to do with this project. Since The New Rock podcast was canceled, I was kind of left with a sour taste in my mouth. I felt like my job wasn't done, and that I still need to be introducing great bands to people who would thoroughly enjoy it.

I was thinking about restarting the radio show I had on Blog Talk radio, but an hour was too long of a time limit for me. Even if I made it a 15 minute show, it would still feel a bit long. A lot of the times I felt like I was rambling about random things that didn't even go along with what I was talking about. The times I was on topic I tended to repeat a lot of what I was saying.

With a vlog style music show, it will cut down on dead space, and repeated lines. It will be shorter, and be more about the bands that I am talking about. That's what I like. I like making informative things be kind of scripted. I never got the chance to script my radio show, and the podcast was free form and I can't really think off the top of my head really fast.

That's why I'm starting this. More than likely the first episode will be next week.

In other news, 7 Nerds A Plenty is going pretty awesome. I love being able to say that I am making new friends with this project.

In The Great Perhaps Started the first day of the year. I am Monday on that channel. That channel is going to be based on themed weeks. It's a new and interesting thing for me.

Easley High held the CIPA (Carolina Indoor Performance Association) Qualifier this weekend. I had to work for the first half, so I was only able to see the Easley Varsity guard, and The Cast. The Cast is an independent guard based in Dorman (I think) that I wanted to audition for. They canceled the '09 season, and for the '10 season I didn't even know they were going to do it. My friend Dee is in it though, and she is Amazing. The Varsity guard was also amazing. I love being able to see my friends grow, and improve in the sport of colorguard. I'm so proud of them.

Anyways, I better split. I think I talked to much.

Peace out friends.

DFTBA!!!
