BEDA 2013 #6: All Stickered up.

I finally got around to decorating my chrome book with stickers.  I had a hard time choosing which stickers to go with because I have SO MANY!!!  I started collecting stickers since I was very young.  I still have pokemon stickers from when it first came out.  They are mostly beat up though, so I couldn't really use any of them. :(  I have an entire box full of them, and really nowhere to stick all of them...until now...

This is what I came up with.  I am representing some of my favorite fandoms (I still don't have Game Of Thrones or Doctor Who stickers.  I am going to have to fix that.), and some of my favorite things.  I kind of wish I had a more of a space to work with, and a couple of other stickers, but I like what I have for now.  If I ever get tired of it, I can always take the stickers off.  :)  Even with me using these stickers, I didn't even put a dent into my collection. haha  Stickers aren't even the only thing I collect, and it isn't even my largest collection either considering it is my second longest running collection.

Today was an interesting day at work to say the least.  I had to clean the parking lot, and I kid you not, I think that a colony of ants built there ant hill around or under a bowl of KFC mashed potatoes.  The bowl was upside down on the ground, and there was a hole that was facing up.  It didn't look like a man made hole.  I looked like it was chewed.  When I brushed the bowl away, so many ants came out of the ground.  It was weird.  That was probably also the most interesting thing that happened.

Yesterday at work was a glorious day because the wicked and lazy witch of the east has finally gone away hopefully never to return again!!!!  No if only all of the really lazy people who do half ass jobs all the time would leave or get fired for something, I would be even more happy.

I am currently watching Patrick play Skyrim.  He finally gets to enjoy the game to it's fullest potential because he received his computer in the mail the same day I got my Chrome book.  It looks so good, that I am even tempted to play it.

I am currently transferring all of my video and blog ideas to google documents, and trying to get a list going so I can try and knock them out.  I have a lot of things I like to talk about, but when I go to actually start typing, I forget what I would like to actually discuss.  Hopefully I can get into the frame of mind where I won't need to write down every idea, and just be able to instantly start with no hiccups.

There is one thing I want to restart again, and that was my song of the day.  I had a lot of fun doing that, and I don't know why I ever stopped.

Today's song is "Zoot Suit Riot" by Cherry Poppin Daddies.  This song is the main reason why I love big band and ska.  The video has it moments of being a bit weird, but I love it.  I am also so jealous of all of the dancers in the video.  It looks so fun to do all of those tricks and flips, and I have always loved swing dancing.  So I will just leave this video here.

Until tomorrow!

BEDA 2013 #5:To VEDA or not to VEDA.

VEDA for those of you who don't know (which I have a feeling you do) is the vlogging equivalent of BEDA.  About two weeks before the month started, I was seriously going to do VEDA and not BEDA.  BEDA was not even in my head at that point.  I have done it before, and I know it can be done.  It has also been a very long time since I have done it, so I was sure I could think of enough things to talk about.  As the month started getting closer, I was growing more and more skeptical about doing it.  I started feeling very nervous about the thought of having to record a video every day, and then I remembered why I stopped doing VEDA in the first place.

I don't like the idea of making videos for the sake of making videos.  I like making videos for fun.  Making videos is my hobby to get away from the stress, and helps calm me down.  Now if I am constantly stressing from what to talk about, and starting to freak out from not having enough time to make a video for the day, then we have a big problem.  It starts to pull away from having fun to being a stress itself.  I remember having to do one take vlogs that were shitty, always apologizing for having to make shitty one take vlogs, and it just wasn't fun at the end of the month.  I also remember not making videos for a while after I would complete VEDA.

Also with my desktop computer being in the state that it is in, I would probably throw it out the window, and give no fucks!  I do have the google chrome book, but it doesn't have any editing software, and I would basically would be subject to using the youtube editor.  I am not a big fan of the youtube editor personally.  Also you would need the internet to use it.  If I were to have done VEDA, I doubt I would have been able to get my videos uploaded because the internet at the hotel Patrick and I stayed at this past week was horrible!!!  I would have failed after the first day.  haha

I personally love BEDA a lot more than VEDA.  I feel like there are a lot less steps to take with BEDA, and once you are done writing, you just pres publish.  Yes you have to go through, and polish what you write, but it takes a lot less time than what you have to do to edit a video.  If I had a better computer to edit on, I probably would have done it.  VEDA just isn't in the cards for me to do right now.  At least not until I get a better computer which could take months for me to accomplish.

Anyways.  I wanted to do something, and I BEDA also correlates with Camp NaNoWriMo.  I have been wanting to write, and this is a very good excuse to do so.  :)

This blog should have been written a couple of days ago, but I wanted to vlog about my Atlanta trip.  It may be a little out of place now, but I don't care. haha

I am going to go.  I have to take my brother to work, and then get ready for work myself.

Until tomorrow

BEDA 2013 #4: Fish Fingers and Custard please.

Patrick and I are back home, and it is quite sad because I was not ready for the three days to be over.

We went to the Aquarium today, and it was fun.  The Georgia Aquarium claims to be the biggest one in the world, but I felt like it didn't have enough content so to speak for that assumption.  Now that I have the cons out of the way, It was awesome!

Just like at the zoo, I believe I got a lot of great shots and videos.  I will say this, it was a great way for me to hone my manual focus skills.  It was really difficult to get the auto focus to do so on certain animals, so manual became my new best friend.

We went to all six of the exhibits, and the dolphin tales shows.  The exhibits were cool, and each had some of my favorite animals included.  I got to pet a shark, and a manta ray, and that was really cool.  I enjoyed the Dolphin Tales show, but it was very cheesy.  I could have done without the singing, and stupid story, but the rest of it was very cool.  Dolphins are probably my favorite animals in the world, so I would have been really upset if I missed that show.

I got to see a turtle, a shark, a jelly fish, a sea and river otter, penguins, sea dragons, sea horse, and little frogs.  I was a happy person.

We had dinner at the aquarium, and it was rather expensive!  What got me was the weigh the salad, and I loaded it with Greek olives, mushrooms, and craisins.  I also had a chicken salad sandwich, and a key lime tart.  I will say this the food was very delicious, but I am not sure it was all worth 25 dollars!  Damn you pay by weight!!!!!

All in all, I really enjoyed the aquarium, and I liked it a lot better than the zoo.  I have always been a fan of marine biology, and this just suited a lot more.  In the future though, if we go back, we are going to have a lot of other things planned because you can't spend the entire day at the aquarium.  There just isn't a full days worth of activities in the building.

We didn't leave until about 6.  We both didn't want to leave because we both work tomorrow, but we both kind of like the idea of having money in our pockets again.  Patrick got us out of the major part of Atlanta, and most of the busy traffic areas, and then I drove the rest of the way home.  I am exhausted, just like I was last night.  I took about an hour or so nap after we got back from the zoo, so if yesterday's blog seems that way, I apologize.

Well I better get going.  Patrick has to go to bed early so that he will be able to wake up at 5 in the morning to wake up for work.  I don't want to keep him up, now do I?  I also want to head home, and get my things unpacked.

Until tomorrow.

BEDA 2013 #3: "Wake up Cousin, We are going to the zoo!"

See what I did there.  I was so tempted to jump up and down on the bed while Patrick was asleep and yell that out just changing cousin with Patrick.  Just so you know, there are very minuscule moments in my life that I don't reference the things I love.  Hehe

Today was Zoo Atlanta day!  It was packed, but I kind of figured it would be seeing as how it is Spring Break for many people this week.  I liked it a lot.  There were a lot of cute animals, and Patrick and I got so many good pictures.  There were a lot of animals that were napping, but the weather was very good napping weather, so I do not blame them what-so-ever.  I am excited to go through and edit my photos.

I would say the highlight of the zoo was the Bird show.  One of the hosts just walked up the stairs, and sat beside me, and asked me if I wanted to be apart of the show!  Who would say no?  So the show started, and she was called down.  She called me down acting like I was a former college whose nickname was Bambi.  haha
The part of the show I was down for was a kind of snow owl (I can't quite remember the specific owl.), and that it was going to fly around, and then fly right above my head.  It was so cool!!!  I can't wait to see the footage of it, but here is one of the photos of the owl about me.
It is one of the coolest things I have gotten to be apart of.  When it flew over my head, I felt the wind from how fast it flew.  It was cute!  It was a very impressive bird!

There really isn't much you can talk about a zoo about.  There were a lot of cute and impressive animals, a lot of walking (Got over 10,000 steps again. Yes!), and a lot of over heard stupidity (and I am not talking about the kids that were around.).

After the zoo, we wanted to do something else, so we decided to got to Underground Atlanta in the Downtown area, and just walk around and get a bite to eat for dinner.  It was a cool looking mall/building.  It past time by.  We had food from a "Hawaiian" restaurant that basically sold Chinese food.  After the Vietnamese restaurant last night, all other foods almost fail in comparison.

Tomorrow is the aquarium, and then back home.  I am  not looking forward to going home, but I am excited because I have heard nothing but great things about this aquarium.

I am exhausted, and wanting to go to bed, so until tomorrow!

BEDA 2013 #2: First day In Atlanta

Day two of BEDA, and I have had a pretty fun day.

Patrick and I drove to Atlanta.  Well he drove most of the way, and we are just outside of Atlanta, but it is all the same difference.  We went to the Sugarloaf Mills Mall, and it is pretty awesome.  It has quite a few stores that I would LOVE if they were closer to where I lived.  Some of my favorite stores there include Sanrio, The Lego Store, Lydia's ArtBox, Panda Express, and one store in particular called Pica Pica! I love it the most because one, it sounds like Pikachu is talking, and two is one of the coolest anime/plushy/video game store I have seen. We have gotten a store like that where we live finally, but it still isn't as great as this one is.

This mall also had a book-a-million, and there was one thing I had on my mind to get while I was there, and that was the Legend Of Zelda Hyrule Historia. I have wanted this book the moment that it was released in Japan, and when they announced that it was going to be translated to English, I about flipped my lid. I am very paranoid when it comes to buying books online. I am afraid of it being mistreated or damaged while in shipping, so I like to buy locally when I can. I could not for the life of me find it anywhere at any book store in my area. I was about to give up, and buy online a little bit before Patrick and I even considered coming to Atlanta. The moment that we made plans to come, I decided to hold out from buying it until I looked here, and I was super ecstatic to find it here! It is so pretty, and totally worth the money. I have yet to read it, and I know it is worth the money just based on the size of the book, and how much content is actually in it. I mean it is the time line for the entire Hyrule history!!!!! I'm a nerd and proud!

We then went to Dave and Busters, and played a bunch of games. I have found two games that I absolutely love. One that is a reflex game where you hit the light buttons as they light up. I love games like that. It was a great way to be active and work on my hand eye coordination. The second game is also a reflex game, but is not active at all. It just involves pressing a button at the right time to stop a line to see how many tickets you can get. I think I played it about 12 times, and I won the bonus five times. The bonus was 250 and increased every time you missed the bonus, so I made ticket bank!!! I used my tickets to get two full music albums: Billy Talent's III, and Cherri Bomb's Stark ep.

Just at the mall alone, I walked over 10,000 steps! It normally takes me an entire day to do that. I was happy. I added about 6,000 after we left the mall. We are going to the zootomorrow, and the aquarium the next day. If I don't get about that amount of steps or more each of those days, I will be completely shocked. I will also be shocked if I don't lose weight this week on Friday.

The last thing we did was go to probably one of the best restaurants I have ever been to in my entire life. It is a Vietnamese restaurant that once we read the reviews and looked at the menu we knew we had to go. We were not disappointed!!!! Everything was AMAZING!!!! I had the Chicken with eggplant in a black bean sauce, and a soft summer roll, and Thai tea with pearls to drink. Everything was so good and you could tell that all of the food was fresh! When I was full, and had left overs, I was upset that it went to waste. I definitely have a place to come eat every time I come to Atlanta now. If you are ever in the area, GO!!! It is worth it, the price is not bad at all, and the food is so good. I have never liked a restaurant before I even got the food. That is how good it was, and it is a very pretty place too. It would be a good place to have a wedding reception.

We went to the asian grocery that was right next door, and got a bunch of Ramune, tiny juice bottles, and the coolest Red Bull bottle I have ever seen. Here is a picture of it.
How cool is that?!? I am not a fan of Red Bull, but I thought this bottle was so cool that I had to buy myself one. We also bought a big box of dates. It's a good snack, it's healthy, and they last us a couple of days! :)

I am excited to see the zoo tomorrow. I have only been to one zoo, but I don't think it was that great of a zoo because the only thing I can remember from it is seeing flamingos, and going into a reptile house. I am excited to see the cute baby panda!

I am going to go now because I want to get sleep, so that I can wake up, work out, eat breakfast, and go see cute animals.

DFTBA

Much love! :)
