20 things to do in a year

This blog is in correlation with the most recent video I posted on my youtube. It basic is twenty things I want to achieve in one year. It starts today, and goes until July 1st of next year. If you want to see my video for that, click here. If not, here’s my explanation of each thing.

1.) Write a Song – I have always wanted to write a song, it was just for lack of equipment that I never did. Now I have my own computer, a piano, basic knowledge of how to play that piano, and a lot to write about.

2.) Audition for the Real World – It has been a dream of mine since I was about 8-ish to be on the Road Rules. Unfortunately they canceled Road Rules, so I have to go with the next best thing. It would mostly be so I’d have a change of participating in the Challenge. :)

3.) Complete the 50 book challenge before my birthday day plus 25 more – That was is pretty much simple. I like to read, so why not read as much as I can?

4.) Meet my hero – If you didn’t already know, Margaret Cho is my hero and my idol. I would probably die a happy person if I just got to say hello to her.

5.) Win Nanowrimo again – Nanowrimo is National Novel Writing Month, and takes place in November. I won it last year barely, but this time I want to be fully prepared and write a way better story than last year’s!

6.) Watch every episode of all my favorite shows – There are only a good handful of shows that I actually like, but most of them I haven’t gotten to see every single episode due to special circumstance. That is going to change very soon! I will probably post a list of all the shows I will be watching.

7.) Go to at least 5 concerts – I love concerts. Who doesn’t love them? I only get to see maybe one concert a year if I’m lucky. This will be the year of a multitude of music extravaganzas!

8.) Listen to and review 50 albums – I had the chance to review Ben Lee’s “Rebirth Of Venus” last year a week before it came out, and I absolutely loved doing that. This will be one of the things I do in the year to see what I could possibly do with my life.

9.) Stop drinking soda – Soda is gross and bad for the health. I need to stop drinking it!

10.) Ask someone out in person – I am such a pussy when it comes to telling people my true feelings. I have always resorted to telling them online, but I am in that stage of my life where I just feel like changing everything.

11.) Go to my first fandom convention – This one I am kind of cheating on. I am going to Infinitus in TWO WEEKS!!! Though I am a bit worried because I haven’t been able to get in touch with the person I am going with, and we were going to do it road trip style.

12.) Learn a new instrument – I love learning to play a new instrument. It makes me feel so successful. That and it would be really impressive if I ever wanted to join a band that would want someone to play different instruments!

13.) Booth for the entire year without missing a day – If you haven’t heard of or visited Dailybooth, it is a picture taking site where you try and take a picture every day. I’d like to complete an entire year. Now that I have a cell phone, I have no excuse for missing a day.

14.) Buy a car – It’s the one thing I want more than anything! I hate having to ask people for a ride. It’s embarrassing.

15.) Get my License – same thing with the car!

16.) Run a mile and a 5K – I love working out, but running has always been one of those things that I have always wanted to do, but physically couldn’t. I just want to be able to say I’ve ran an entire mile and 5K without having to walk.

17.) Learn to juggle – I had to include one silly thing. Plus I have always wanted to learn. I think it is a pretty neat party trick.

18.) To keep my room clean for the entire year – This may not seem like a hard task, but you can ask any of my irl friends. They know it is really hard for me to keep my rook clean for longer than a few days, and it takes even longer to clean it.

19.) Watch fifty new movies – This one is kind of my way of using my job to my advantage. I work at the movie theaters and one of the perks is I get to see movies for free. Why not put it to good use.

20.) Vlog Everyday August – I participated in Beda last year, and I found it to be pretty fun. Now that I have a computer of my own, I can now make sure I get to post every day. I think it would be really cool to vlog every day. I’m not saying it will be easy, but it would be an interested experience.
Well, that was my list of things I want to do in the upcoming year. Hopefully when I report back next I will have completed all of them!!!

Until next time

This is a refresher summer...

This is the first summer in two years that I'm not going away for two months. It's a weird feeling to not be packing up ten weeks worth of clothes and random junk I'll never use.

It's like my welcome back to a lazy summer, but it won't be that lazy considering all I am going to be doing this summer.

I still have my job at the theater, and it is starting to get a little stressful. The District Manager just moved to Anderson which is about a forty five minute drive to Easley. This is NOT a good thing. This man is strict and he is also a douche bag which makes it worse. He is one of those guys that fires you for a very minuscule reason. He made all of these rules for us to follow that make no sense what-so-ever. We normally would ask people if they would like butter, but he told us not to ask anymore because it will take too much time. I tested this theory out, and it actually took up more time. People love butter here. You'd think it were going out of style. There is rarely anyone who doesn't want butter on their popcorn (and if you are one of these people, thank you so much!). He also wants us to up-sale everytime!!! That takes too much time, and when you have a crowd of over two hundred people it is just not worth it. I'm sorry to complain, but whenever the manager of the theater is stressed out to the point of tears, you know there has to be something wrong.

Infinitus is only 44 days (I am writing this at midnight so it is technically Tuesday now.), and I finally have music to learn for the Final Battle. It is a lot of pages, but I think I can get my parts down! I love a challenge, and this just excites me more. If any of you follow Alan Lastufka's Blog, then you would have read that he donated $1,000 to the fund that we are trying to raise. That just made everyone's day that is involved with the musical, especially Mallory and Lena! Now all we have to raise is less than $500 (I'm guessing it's less because of him asking people to help donate). All of the money we are raising is going to building the set and to rent instruments (mainly the one's I am going to be playing.) If we raise more than is needed, then it is going straight to the Harry Potter Alliance. I just think that is awesome!!! I am really excited for everyone to see the finished product! If you would like to donate then you can go to http://thefinalbattle2010.blogspot.com/

Hopefully this summer I will get to reconnect with the friends that I haven't gotten to hang out with because of going to camp two summers in a row.
Maybe not going to Awanita this years is going to be the best thing for me. At least I hope it is!

Since Alan helped out the Final Battle, I am going to promote his single "Erase This" It's the least I can do. He is an amazing person for that.

Well I'm off to bed.

Much love!

I've won at life!!!

Or at least a contest!

I enter contest all the time, and I have yet to win one... Until now!!!

Jessica Brody was holding a contest for her new book "The Karma Club". It was to get people to watch the book trailer. Each person was given a special link, and how ever many clicks that link got the person got that many entries. I don't know how many I got, but it was enough for me to win a 25 dollar itunes card. It's not much, but I still won something. I would have rather won that instead of the grand prize because I'm not a big fan of the flip cams, and it helps me grow my music collection (Which is at a little over seven thousand songs!). Not only did I get the gift card, I also got a book mark and a sneak peek of the book which Jessica Brody signed. I find that pretty cool.

Anyway, It has been a while since I last posted (and has anyone noticed that I say that in every blog post I write?).

I have started to drive. I am no where near being able to afford a car and insurance yet, but I thought it would be a good thing to learn in advance. It's also kind of a good thing as well because my mom is getting herself pretty much a full body physical, and she needs someone to be able to drive her if needed. Yesterday she had a colonscopy, and was heavily sedated. She actually waited until I was a little comfortable driving to have this done. So I wasn't as nervous driving her as if she were to have it done a week ago. I've only been driving for two weeks and she was comfortable and trustworthy enough to have me drive her in a incoherent state. That actually made me more confident that nervous or scared. I love my mom. She is awesome.
Hopefully I will be able to go for my drivers license in a few weeks. That's my plan anyway.

Well I'm going to go. I hope everyone is having a great month. I hope to blog again soon!

Much love and DFTBA
~Alicia~

Loving to read, and win books.

You all know (Or should know) that I love to read...A LOT!

So when I heard there was a girl hosting a contest to win books, I immediately went to sign up.

I think it is the coolest thing ever! The way it is set up is you have to fill out a form. and you get entry points by doing little things like posting a blog about the contest or tweeting about it.

So if you are interesting in this contest it is called March Madness Contest and you can find it HERE

The Final Battle.

For most of you that are friends with me on Facebook or watch one of my many collab channels, you know that I am in the orchestra pit for the musical "The Final Battle"

I bet some of you are wondering, "What in the heck is The Final Battle?" The Final Battle is a musical based on the last 200 pages of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows. It is going to be performed at Infinitus 2010, which is a Harry Potter convention happening in July at the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter theme park in Orlando, Florida. The scripted is being written by Mallory Vance. The music is being composed by Lena Gabrielle Weinstein, of the Butterbeer Experience.

Well the reason why I brought this up is because I just finished listening to Act 1's music, and I officially love it! I can't wait to hear Act 2's music. The more I listen to the music, the more and more I get excited and pumped for July to come faster!

Infinitus, Here I come!
