BEDAugust was a fail this year.

I was so hyped up and ready to do BEDA this month, and then the moment it turned to August the 1st, I was bombarded with so much stuff! So here I am to tell you why I haven't been blogging at all this week.

About a week and a half ago I was asked out on a date for my next day off. My next day off just so happened to be this past Monday. We got together at around noon. We went for lunch at a sushi place in Greenville. Then we went to Downtown Greenville to get coffee at Coffee Underground, and to walk around Falls Park. We then went to Books-A-Million (He automatically won awesome points with that one.), and then to his house to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. What made the watching of the HP so awesome was the fact that he hasn't seen but one movie (And of all the ones he watched he watched the worse one in my opinion: Goblet Of Fire). I am just converting all of these people to like HP. it is quite great, but I digress. The point of the story is, we got along like a big house on fire.

Tuesday I worked. After I got off, I joined my mom in watching the rest of the last HP movie. When we got home, we went out to eat and then shopping. Again another day where I wasn't home.

Wednesday, I worked until five when Patrick (My date from Monday, now my boyfriend) picked me up and we went to my house to hang out. I was home the rest of the night, but I was busy watching movies and youtube videos, and playing Halo Reach.

Thursday was my day off, but I went shopping for groceries for the following week so that I won't starve while my mom is at the beach. After that, I took a nap, and when Patrick got off work, I went to hang out with him. I got to meet his friends, and I think they like me which is awesome! :)

Friday, I went to weight watchers where I found out I lost 5.6 pounds this week!?!?!?!?!? This shocked the hell out of me, but hey I will take it. :) THen I got home and got ready really quickly because I thought I worked opening shift. When I got there however I found out that I work the closing shift. When I got home I took a nap, and when it was time I walked to work and didn't get home until well after midnight.

Tonight is the first night I have been able to blog, and it would have been sooner in the day if it wasn't for my internet being stupid and not working.

So in the past week I gained a boyfriend. Not much, but considering how much time we have spent together just in this one week, it has made it almost impossible for me to write here. I will try a lot better for the rest of the month because I really do love blogging.

Now I am going to go because I have been on my knees entirely too long, and it is now really hard for me to get up now.

I will start the music video of the day back up tomorrow. :)

DFTBA and much love

These are slow times there's no denying. (BEDA #24)

You see what I did there? I took Rufus Scrimgeour's first line of Deathly Hallows pt. 1 movie and applied it to how today went. It just felt like a really long, slow day, but finally work is back to normal. Spring break for the high schoolers in our county is over which means back to weekend working until summer. I'm not happy about that because that is less money to be made, but at the same time I am tired of babysitting teenagers. haha

I vacuumed the lobby today, and it took me about an hour to do the entire floor. When it came time to empty out the dirt chamber/filter, I went outside to empty both of them. Wouldn't you know that the wind was blowing, and no matter where I moved the wind seemed to want to constantly blow at me. It took a while to clean the filter of all the dust, and by the end of it I felt like a chimney sweeper that's how covered I was. From now on, I am emptying it out inside away from the wind.

I just finished watching Deathly Hallows pt 1 with my mom. It was mom's first time watching it. It was my fourth time watching it, and I still cried at all the sad bits. I don't think I've ever been able to say that about any movie. Normally if I cry at a part the first time, by the second time I'm ready for it and no emotions surface. It must be the fact that Harry Potter has such a special place in my heart that it will always pull emotions out of me no matter how many times I read it or watch it. That is what's so good about the Harry Potter series. The books/movies carry you into another world, and dwell in your soul. I'll be totally sad when it's all over this July. I just hope the fandom doesn't die out. That's my outlet. :)

Today music video is The Wallflowers "One Headlight". I love this song to pieces!!! It is just one of many masterpieces to come out of the 90's! I could listen to it for hours! It comes of their album "Bringing Down The Horse"
Bringing Down the Horse

It's time for me to go get some sleep. I have a long day of cleaning/packing to do tomorrow.

New Doctor Who season starts TONIGHT! (BEDA #23)

I am so excited!!! I've been waiting for this since Christmas!!! I have a feeling that I am going to be at the edge of my seat for every single episode, but I am like that with every single episode I've ever watched. :)

I have been kind of avoiding the internet all day because I actually have friends who live in the UK, and I know they are going to watch it. I also have a lot of friends who will be downloading it off torrents to watch it early. (I probably will as well, but at the moment I am getting ready for work). I won't get to see the episode until after I get home from work which could be at exactly 10 pm if I can find a ride home, or midnight when my boss gets off work so that I will have a ride home. Either way I am going to watch it the moment I get home. I may have church tomorrow morning, but I can run of five hours sleep no problem. I did it last Sunday. :) Though if I get off work before ten and get home before Doctor Who ends, I am going to wait until five minutes after. I'm really weird about spoiling myself. I don't even like watching a movie or listening to a song unless it has started at the beginning, even if I have seen/heard them before.

I am having so much fun learning guitar. I have started learning how to switch chords fluidly, but I am having a slight problem with it. I think with practice it will be better, but I am not quite ready to start playing songs yet. I think that is what's driving me to keep learning. I also don't want it to be a waste of 150 dollars.

Also last night I won my very first bid on ebay. It was for blue pirate dreads from one of my favorite Real World/Road Rules Fresh Meat 2 contestants! She has only made two of these blue dreads, and I will be the only one to own them!!!! How awesome is that!!! They will make a fine addition to my Ravenclaw outfit for leaky con!!!

Today's video is a song that I have always loved, and the name of it kind of relates to what I am going to be doing today. Pantera is by far one of my favorite metal bands. It's just a shame I never had a chance to meet Dimebag Darrell (R.I.P.). He was such a genius, and from what I could gather from every interview I've seen him in a really nice down to earth guy! He is still missed to this day! The Song is "Walk" and it is off their album "Vulgar Display Of Power"
Vulgar Display of Power

Well I am going to go back to watching doctor who and making things for the craft fair so that I can earn my 50 dollars for the final battle...hopefully.

The zombies are coming!!! (Music video Friday BEDA #22)

My mom got my guitar last night from the theater, and I've been trying to play it ever since. It is kind of confusing, but I am finding it to be pretty fun. I can't wait until I get to play actual song which will probably be a long while. haha

Anyways!

The theme this week is ZOMBIES!!!! Don't judge me, the idea popped into my head last night. So I don't have a lot of time due to the fact that my brother didn't hook my internet back until I was about ready to leave for work, and that I just came home about an hour ago. Instead of the normal five videos, I am going to shrink it down to four. That way I can still probably post this before midnight.

The first video is "Big Brat" by Phantom Planet. I was listening to this song when the idea popped into my brain. The video starts off with people getting ready to film a short zombie film. It isn't until the very end of the video that you get to see the zombies. I won't ruin the ending, but it is adorable...for zombies.

The second video is Wednesday 13's "I Walked With A Zombie". I really like this video because it reminds me of a classic zombie movie. The song is also really cool.

How could I have a list about zombies without including Rob Zombie! The song "Living Dead Girl" has been one of my favorites for a very, very long time. I really love this video for the fact that it is true to the decade they are portraying. It's a silent film style video set in a circus and the living dead girl is the main attraction. It's awesome! Some people think the song is about necrophilia, and some think it is about a guy who is in love with a heroin addict. Either way I still love it no matter what it is about.

And last but certainly not least we have the most well know zombie music video ever. It's Michael Jackson's "Thiller" This is probably the most iconic music video of the last century. I don't think any video would beat it out. I could have a word vomit about how awesome this video is, but I am sure you all know why it's awesome anyway. I also don't want to bore you. However if you have a short attention span when it comes to music videos, this one may not be your cup of tea.

Well I hope you enjoy all of these videos.

About to travel mode (BEDA #21)

The past two days after I went hiking I have been in extreme getting ready to travel mode. Anyone that has traveled knows what I mean. It's when you know you only have a week until you leave, and you have way too much to do before it is time to depart.

Yesterday was the first day I had even thought of writing down my "to-pack" list. This is how I felt when I was getting ready for Awanita, Infinitus, my trip to New York, and even my senior year band trip. I am not much of a planner, and I always tend to forget at least one thing. For my band trip it was my toothbrush. (luckily one of my friends always tends to bring an extra one.) Both years at Awanita, I would call my mom up before she came for the fourth of July with a list of things to bring me. Luckily for both Infinitus and The New York trip I didn't forget anything important. I am hoping to make that three trips in a row of not forgetting anything.

I just printed off the directions to get to the hotel of the convention, directions from there to Lena's college, and then from there home. I need to make a mixed cd of wrock songs for us to listen to on the ride up there. My mom wants to at least get a feel for what she is going to be listening to when she is there.

I also want to get my room clean before I leave. I have a problem with cleaning my room. It takes me for-ev-er. I'm serious. I am so horrible about it. I have always been one to get distracted, and the computer in my room doesn't help at all!!! There is one particular reason why I want my room clean before I leave. My brother is wanting to do a serious cleaning to his room. He will be emptying his entire room, vacuuming, washing the walls, and everything that comes back into his room is going through a severe dusting. When he empties out his room, he uses my room and my moms room to store his stuff, so I don't want to give him the opportunity to break my stuff. And it would be nice to say that I had a clean room for a week. haha

Today's video is "Surrender" by Billy Talent. I know I featured Billy Talent earlier in the month, but I have had this song stuck in my head all day. It is a very good song. It is off their album "II". If you have not heard of Billy Talent, I highly recommend them. They are awesome!
II

I am going to attempt to clean a part of my room... after I record a video for 7NAP. :)

Being alone can get boring. (BEDA #20)

This blog kind of stems from a conversation that myself, Killian, and Brandon had yesterday. Well mostly just myself and Killian, but Brandon was there.

He was pointing out the fact that since his brother left on his trip that he now has the house to himself when his parents are gone, and that he enjoys being alone. I for one don't really enjoy it all that much. I told him that I used to love being alone, but as time went on I kind of got bored of it.

I have never thought about why I don't like being alone anymore until last night and this afternoon. When I loved being alone, I didn't have many friends. The friends I had mostly used me to stay at my house and invite their boyfriends over so I was always left out. I didn't trust anyone at that point in my life, so it was better for me to just be alone all the time. That was okay with me. I also think that the school environment had something to do with that. I was surrounded by people who I couldn't stand most of the time, and I was made fun of and bullied. I think that being alone was my way of re-energizing myself for another day of the same thing.

When I joined color guard something changed about that. I was finally around like minded people. I made friends that actually wanted to hang out with me. My whole "trust no one" philosophy was slowly going away. I don't know if any of you have ever been in band or had friends in band, but you are practically around these people for hours at a time. Sometimes even for a whole day. When you around people non-stop for so long, and then suddenly you are stuck at home for long periods of time, it messes with you. I kind of went through a bout of depression after graduation because I was alone. So I think that is why I don't like being alone.

Now every once in a while I like being alone to recollect my thoughts or to film a video (I'm still not comfortable filming in front of people or with people being home), but I can't stand it for very long. I've had a taste of being away from the house, and I can't help but want more. I guess that will change when I get a car, but I doubt it.

I can understand where he is coming from being the youngest of three brothers and still in high school. He had the taste of being the only kid home when both of his brothers lived on campus at their colleges, but only for a semester. One of them transfered back home and is a commuter.

Today's music video is from Arcade Fire. It's the song "Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)" off of their album "Funeral" This is the first song I had ever heard from them. They were performing it live on Later...With Jools Holland years ago. I loved almost immediately. The video is also really cool.
Funeral

Alright it is fifteen minutes until midnight so I better post this!!! Darn those distracting chat conversations on facebook. Oh well. :)

I had a fun active day... (BEDA #19)

...When can I have a day like that again?!?

I went hiking today. I have only ever been hiking twice. The first time was at table rock, and I wanted to quit every five minutes. It took myself and the group I was with at least five to six hours to get to the top and back down. It was cool getting to the top and I had fun, but I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have. The second time was with my first year working at Awanita. We went to a trail in North Carolina, and I didn't get to finish the hike. I was about to pass out and tripped up a root. My friends didn't want me going any further, so I was sort of forced to quit. That was a fun day, but almost fainting wasn't.

I went with my friends Killian and Brandon, and I had a blast. We went to Table Rock and took the trail that I took for the first time. I did have to stop a few times to shake out my legs to get blood flowing to them and to catch my breath before going up huge stone step things, but not once did I want to quit. I don't know if it was for the fact that I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it, or the fact that I didn't want to look like a square in front of my friends, but I kept pushing myself. It didn't help that one of them is a cross country runner and Ultimate Frisbee club member, and one of them used to run cross country and track. I couldn't keep up for the life of me. They were totally cool about though. (Well at least Killian was.) I respect both of them for being patient with me.

We didn't go to the very end of the trail, but the "Top" of the mountain was about a 2 minute hike down hill then back up hill to the end. The view is way better where we stopped anyway. We ate a sandwich and some fruit while we enjoyed the view. It was nice. At the half way mark on the way down, the guys decided that they wanted to run down the rest of the way. I walked back down. Knowing me if I attempted to run down, I would end up tripping. They ended the trail about 20 minutes before I did. We started at about 10:15 in the morning, and we left the park at 1. I improved my time by three hours. That made me feel super awesome! Here are some pictures I took.

I don't know if you can see, but Brandon is posing.

This little shelter marked half way to the top.

The view from where we stopped.

Brandon (Right) and Killian (left) resting.

One of the little waterfalls from the bottom of the trail.

After that we went to a Chinese restaurant called Jin Jin's for lunch. It was good. It probably wasn't the best thing to eat after just hiking a mountain, but who cares. It was delicious!!! We then went to throw around a Frisbee for a bit. Brandon's friend joined us and then we tried having a two on two game of Ultimate Frisbee. That was a disaster, a train wreck if you will. When I play Ultimate, it's normally with a big group of people that agree with me running to the goal area and catching whatever comes. This time I had to do a lot of running, which isn't my cup of tea especially after just hiking and eating greasy Chinese food. Even though Brandon and I lost against Killian, and their friend, I still had fun. Though I will admit that having Killian's arm bash into my face wasn't fun. At least it wasn't his elbow. haha.

I'm not a fan of repeating what I say, but I must say this again. When can I have another fun active day like this again?!? I hope it is soon!

Today's video is not a music video. It is a video of Yellowcard performing their song "View From Heaven". This was off their DVD "Beyond Ocean Avenue". There are two reason's why I picked this song. One reason is Killian gave me a copy of their album Paper Walls, and second to pay tribute to Elisabeth Sladen who played Sarah Jane Smith on the Doctor Who series, and in the Sarah Jane Chronicles. She passed away this morning. You will surely be missed. You were always one of my favorite companions. Your memory and spirit will live on. Rest in Peace, Elisabeth.

It's just one of those days!(BEDA #18)

If you didn't read the blog that I posted at 1:30 am yesterday morning, it pretty much was just me saying that I was going to be gone all day. Getting an opportunity to work from open to close is awesome. More hours for me means more money in my bank account, but working with only a few hours of sleep is hard. By the end of the night I started feeling loopy. It was funny.

The only thing about yesterday was one customer. He was this tall kind of built bald guy with a lot of piercings. When he first came in, we were all in the office waiting to go clean. I saw him and started walking out of the office and I was about two feet away from the opening to the concession/box office area, and he yells out with this high pitch voice "Can I get some service?" I said yes, and he asked about what times we are open tonight. He comes in about an hour later, buys his ticket, and walks on. He then comes back to the concession area, and he mumbles his order. All I hear from his mouth is "large cherry icee coke cherry." I don't know if this is the lack of sleep taking affect, but I ask him what was that? He looks at me (Mind you he is wearing sunglasses), and says in a tone that insinuates that I am complete idiot, "Cherry Icee, Large Cherry Coke." I got him his order, and he handed me his card. I swiped it once and it wouldn't work. I swiped it up, down, rubbed the black stripe on the back, and did every trick in the book on my machine. Sometimes the card machine attached to the concession screen doesn't pick up well, and the card looked worn, so I ended up having to use the tel-check machine in the back. He started talking crap about me. The only thing I heard myself was "That card is new too." I come back with his card and receipt, and when he is out of ear shot I say, "What a total asshole." I ask Chris what he was saying. He told me that he was saying things about how slow I was, and calling me a grandmother. I turn to Eric and ask, Should I know that guy?" thinking it was a family relative from my dads side of the family, and Eric said, "I thought you knew him". The guy was using my name since I had my name tag on. Eric told me that how come I couldn't get the card the work the first time like it did for box. So this guy was talk crap about me when my back was turned, using my name to make it look like we knew each other, and didn't have the balls to say any of it to my face. Maybe he has a girlie voice for a reason. There is no reason to tear me down for the fact that the machine wouldn't work in my favor. I really hope that he doesn't have children. He is a horrible jerk, and I'm sure his spawn would be too. I was pissed off at first, but then I realized that the guy wasn't able to say any of the stuff to my face. Just shows that he is a pussy. Next time he comes in and tries to pull that BS on me, I will not have it.

Sorry about that long story/rant. I had to get it out so that I will be in high spirits for tomorrow.

I did have a good day today. Went for a walk, didn't have any horrible customers, and I got to see my friend Bippy for a little bit.

Tomorrow I am going hiking with two of my friends (well that is if one of them has convinced the other one to go. If not it will just be two of us.) I'm excited. I haven't been hiking since the first year that I worked at Awanita. I still need to get some stuff together, but other than that I am ready! I am going to record some footage, so I can put together either a vlog, or a thoughts from places video. Oh exciting!

Tonight's video is the song that I always listen to when I am angry. It calms me down strangely. It's Limp Bizkit with "Break Stuff" off their album "Significant Other". Now I know what you are saying. "Limp Bizkit sucks1 How could you listen to them?" They were at one point good. It was everything after he album "Chocolate Starfish and The Hot Dog Flavored Water (Which is still one of my favorite names for an album!) that sucked. My favorite part of this video is 1:02 into it. Wes Borland was a weird genius. When he left, that is when things went down hill for Limp Bizkit. Seeing Paulie Shore prance around with a wig and then twirl around with his underwear showing is pretty great too! Either way this is still a good song to listen to when you are angry, and nothing can change that really.
Significant Other

Well I am going to go finish getting things together. Peace out!

This is an early post! (BEDA #17)

I am writing this blog so early because I have a long day ahead of me.

First I am going to church around 9:15 for sunday school and morning service. From there I am going to straight to work. I will be working from 12:30 to close which is practically midnight. I will not be home all day. I was originally just going to work from 3:45 to close, but I took someone's hours on top of mine. I don't mind because I need the hours and money that comes along with it. :)

I am kind of sad that I am not going to be hanging out with my friends like I do every Sunday night, but sometimes you have to do what you've got to do. I'm sure they will be glad for a night without a girl around.

I would make a longer blog, but I am tired and I have to wake up in six or so hours. I'm not looking forward to being up for so long with little sleep.

The video of the day is a song that my boss actually played earlier tonight while she was counting down her register. It's Rob Zombie's "More Human Than Human" from the album "Astro Creep: 2000"
Astro Creep: 2000 -- Songs of Love, Destruction, and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head

It's 1:30 am in the morning and my brother just flipped out because he saw a spider. It sounded like he was falling down. It's so funny hearing him freak out when he sees a spider. :)

Good night everyone!

The thought machine is working! (BEDA #16)

I just had a few good ideas on blog posts and I just wrote them down so that while I am at work, I can start writing them. Why am I not posting them now? The reason being is that I want these blogs to portray my full opinion, and if I were to write about it on the fly (like I did for the Guitar Hero/Rock Band blog) then my opinion would probably be lost in translation. I have a hard time concentrating on one topic that it is hard for me to get it out properly without first writing all the thoughts out and organizing them. For a person that has such a messy, cluttered room, I sure do like to organize my thoughts a lot. I still have yet to understand how my brain likes to function.

Anyway. It is Record Store Day which I am happy about and sad about. I am happy because Indie Record stores are finally starting to get the recognition that they deserve! I'm sad because Wild Flag (A new band that has both Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss of Sleater-Kinney) is releasing a limited edition 7-inch record today, and I have no way of getting to the nearest record store that is carrying it. I wanted it so BAD!!! I'm not sure if they are going to be releasing it online to buy, or if it is just a Record Store exclusive, but all I know is that I want it!!! I hope Earshot doesn't sell out f it, and keeps it until I get a chance to buy it. That is way too wishful thinking. It's all about being positive!

I lost 1.4 pounds at weight watchers today! I'm excited! If I lose 1.8 at the next meeting I would have lost 30 pounds so far! That's a little under half of my goal weight!!! Let's just hope that I can lose that, and lose weight while I am in New Hampshire!

Today's music video is from Incubus. I have been in an Incubus mood lately. The video is "Warning" and it is off their album Morning View. I really love the building of the song. The more it goes, the more intense it gets! Also the girl in this video is quite creepy. I wouldn't want her near me. haha

Well I need to start heading to work.

Metal will ensue! Music Video Friday #2 (BEDA #15)

When I tell people that I like Heavy Metal, they normally don't believe it. It's almost the same thing as when I tell people that I listened to rap as a child and early teen. I guess people think that I'm too nice or nerdy for such music. False! I have Metal on heavy rotation on my zune at least once a week or so. It was what kept me going in times of depression, and I continue to listen to it to get some of my anger out. I even auditioned to be in a metal band in my area. I used to be able to cookie monster growl with the best of them. Unfortunately they found someone else. :(

If you haven't noticed, this weeks music videos are strictly Metal. All of them are favorites of mine and I probably have a recording of them on tape somewhere that I have worn out!

The first video is "Death Blooms" by Mudvayne. Mudvayne just happen to be my very first concert! This is also my favorite song by them! The video is probably one of the weirdest video of its time, but I find it rather beautiful in a twisted kind of way. I will let you judge for yourself.

Probably the song and band that got my into wanting to be in a metal band was Kittie's "What I Always Wanted" This video is a pretty simple concept. Greed can be a vicious monster, and take you down a road of suffering. This guy almost drowns because he doesn't know when to stop collecting the coins. It doesn't hurt that Morgan can harmonize and growl like a champ!

Otep's "Warhead" came out around the time George Bush was still in office and was running for his second term in office. This is how I feel about the bush administration. I just HATED IT!!!

Back whenever Uranium was still on the air on Fuse (You know back when it was good at playing different kinds of music.), Juliya was set to interview Killswitch Engage. The band had other plans. They kidnapped her, tied her up, and Adam put on a wig that looked like Juliya's hair and pretended to be her. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen in my laugh. I still to this day I can't help but laugh at it, and I have probably watched it over 30 times. Anyway every time I go to watch their video for the "Rose of Sharyn" I think of Adam saying in a sort of muppet like voice "The trees are bleeding, Blood is Metal!"

The last video of this blog, I will be playing Fear Factory's "Archetype". I really like this song. I really like this video. They did a really good job of making Burton look like he was floating and strapped to the machine that it kind of looks painful. Maybe that's just me. :)

If you are not a fan of Metal, I'm sorry that this blog doesn't suit you. For those of you that think I went a little weak with my metal, I just wanted to give people a taste. If I wanted to bust out Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, or any band of that nature I would have. I will probably make another metal video list in the future.

Well I need to go get ready to leave for work. Maybe I will get to the theater before the rain starts. The last thing I want to do is walk in the rain.

Dreams are made winding through my head. (BEDA #14)

I have been watching a lot of Metal and Rock music videos on youtube. When I do I try my best to avoid vevo videos as much as possible because I hate having to watch ads before my video. That's why I stopped watching Fuse and MTV hits, so that I could avoid commercials. Something else that has come to my attention is that Vevo has no idea about music. If you look at the tags for the video, they normally put what music genre it is apart of. They put System Of A Down as pop music. WHAT?!?! Are they kidding me?!?! I don't know if it is the music snob in me talking, but they are a metal band. They always have been. Yeah they may be in the mainstream music world, but that does not mean they are pop-stars. Leave it to corporate companies to know nothing about what they are working with. What makes it funnier is they have Daughtry as Rock. Vevo, you suck at life.

Later tonight after my mom gets off of work, we are going to the new Super Wal-Mart that they just opened yesterday. That is about 30 or so minutes after midnight. The reason why we are going so late is because we are going to buy the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 DVD. It was mostly my mom's idea because she has yet to see it. I told her that she would more than likely have to see it by herself because it was closer to the Holiday season which means that I would be working every Saturday after I got back from New York. She didn't heed my advice which means she didn't get to see it in theaters. She wants to see it before she goes to Aeternitas because she thinks she would be out of the loop if she doesn't. Whatever. That means I am getting it sooner than I thought.

I went to go get my schedule up at work like I normally do, and Josh had brought the guitar that I am going to be buying from him. It is a black Ovation celebrity acoustic electric guitar. I wasn't originally going to get an acoustic guitar because I really don't like how big the body is, but this is slimmer than a normal acoustic guitar which makes me happy. :) I am excited to start learning. I have always wanted to learn, and now I get a chance to do so.

Today's video is from System Of A Down. If you are familiar with any of their songs, you might recognize the title of my blog. It is a lyric from the song "Spiders" and it is off their self titled album.

It is time for me to go wash the dishes like I promised my mom I would do. :)

This almost didn't happen. (BEDA #13)

I really can't stand it when our cable provider, Charter, decides to do maintenance randomly. I remember that they used to send out letters and digital messages telling us when they were going to do said maintenance. What happened, Charter? Why are you not being courteous anymore? We would like to know so those of us who are blogging everyday can make an effort to post a blog earlier in the day. You're lucky that you finished early.

Not only was Charter having problems, but so was Verizon. My brother came home about an hour after the internet went out yelling at me because I wouldn't answer my phone. Apparently he had called me three or four times. I didn't get a single one of them. Nor did I have any message saying that I missed a call. He shortly tried sending me a text message and I got the message roughly fifteen minutes after he sent it.

What is going on?

After I posted the blog yesterday, I went to Love You To Death's website, and found out a couple of things that to me are awesome. I want to share because I think all of you that like free music will enjoy it too!

They released a free EP called "Putting Out So You Like Us More" back in December. It is really good, but I think all their music is really good. :)

They also have it to where all of their cd's are only .01 cent plus shipping which is practically a steal. Most of the time I will not buy cd's online because the shipping ends up being ridiculous. With this it is almost as if you were buying the cd's at a store for really cheap. Because of that I bought "6 Week Summer Vacation In Hell" and "Recipe For A Ghost" (I already bought "Recipe For A Ghost" through iTunes, but I really love having cd copies of music that I love, so I couldn't resist.) I also bought a button. I only spent $11.75 and all of that except $1.02 is shipping. If you were to split that in half, that is about the same price as you would pay for used cd's. It's awesome!!!

I still have yet to work on the workout playlist though... I am such a procrastinator. I need to work on that.

Today's music video is coming to you based on a coin flip. I make fun of my friend for always flipping a coin on things he has a hard time deciding on, and here I go doing the exact same thing. :) I told him that he can call me a hypocrite if I ever poke fun at him because of that again, but I digress.

The video that won is from one of my favorite Canadian bands, Billy Talent. (Just a little fun fact, the other video in question was also from a Canadian performer. I can't help it that Canadian's have very talented musicians!) This video is probably their mildest video that they have released. What I mean by that is all of their other video are rather weird! I didn't choose any of their other videos because I wanted to use that in a future music video cluster blog. *Rubs hands together in thought of her master plans* The video is "Red Flag" off their album "Billy Talent II". If you are a Burnout fan like I am, you will recognize this song from Burnout Revenge and Burnout Legends.

Well it is time for me to go catch up on my Harry Potter reading.

"Stop wasting my balls!" (BEDA #12)

I have always found listening to my brother complain about the events that happen in the videos games that he don't benefit him very entertaining, but hearing him yell out "Stop wasting my balls" takes the cake! I could help but to laugh, and I am really glad he waited until after I had taken my sip of tea. Obviously he is talking about Pokemon Black. It took him a lot of pokeballs to catch one pokemon, and he ended up catching it with the second worst pokeball available in the game. I pointed and laughed at him!!!

I just finished watching The Biggest Loser, and when I say just finished it I mean like 40 minutes ago. Anyway. In the show, they are on vacation in New Zealand. I am rather jealous of them. A few of the contestants gained weight, and that is what I am afraid of every time I go on vacation. Even though I am always walking and being active, I tend to over eat just a bit. I don't think I have come back from a vacation, and lost weight. I would love too. I hope that since I am going with my mom, who is not only on this weight lose journey with me but will also be training to walk her first 5k since having her knee surgery, that I will have a better chance of staying on track. Now the only time I will be full on worried is when I go to the Beach at the end of May and at Leaky Con. I won't let the worrying get to me until I am on the scale, but I just want to prove to myself that I can go enjoy myself without totally going overboard with food.

I started running today. My mom and I went to the track, and I told her that I want to run a 5k. Unfortunately the 5k my mom is going to be apart of is on the day after I leave for the beach. That doesn't mean I can't get something good from this. I have been wanting to get into running for a long while now. This being said, I need a stellar running/walking playlist. The songs I have so far are "Gotta Get Thru This" by Daniel Bedingfield, "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" by Kylie Minogue, and "Raise Your Glass" by P!nk. That's not much of a playlist. I need some good song suggestions. If you all could help me out I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Today music video is an in-studio music video. It's by the band Love You To Death and the song is "99 Lives" That is one of my favorite songs by them. It is the rerecorded version of the song, and it is amazing both ways (That's what she said). The Original is off the album "CheeROCKracy", and this version is on their iTunes exclusive "R.I.P, Cupcake" EP.

I am going to get back to making my playlist. I have 7000 songs to rifle through, so I am bound to get a decent playlist, right?

Wedding bells are ringing (BEDA #11)

Well there really weren't bells ringing, but there was a wedding!

Yesterday, my friend Melissa, Ashley, and I went to Table Rock Lodge for our friend's wedding. It was a lovely day which was a good thing because the wedding was outside.

We had to be there at 10 am to help set up. Ashley's mom is the wedding director, and Angie (The mother of the bride) asked us if we would like to help out as well. I couldn't say no because Angie had always been there for me when I needed someone to talk to at camp.

We decorated the reception area, put out chairs where the wedding was taking place, and I helped take pictures of the bride getting ready.

Once 2 o'clock rolled around, we got everyone in their seats and it was show time. I was moving all over the place filming shots for my friend Adam, who needed someone else to film (Moments like this make me glad I bring my video camera every where.), and taking pictures. I probably climbed up and down the stairs about 20 or so times. I didn't mind because I was getting in a little exercise. I did get a little burnt on my chest, but it's fine. It was a little bit of a long winded ceremony, but all in all it was a beautiful service and I am happy for Holly and Daniel!

The reception was fun. I got to see someone I worked with at camp in 2009 for the first time since then. It was a god thing because I missed her a lot. I hope to get to hang out with her in the future. Since a few of my friends are going to Clemson next semester, I can go visit her.

It was also a good day because I got to hang out with Elaine, my weight watchers meeting leader, and her daughter Karen outside of weight watchers. Elaine is Angie's best friend, and she was also asked to help out.

We got to dance a little bit, and had a blast before we had to start cleaning up the place. Once everything was put away and we got all of Lorraine's wedding things together, we hit the road back to Easley.

Since we were heading back at around 5 o'clock, I was able to go to church. I was dropped off, and I was fifteen minutes early. It isn't my home church, and I normally walk in with Killian since he is my ride there, so it was a bit awkward. We didn't go out to cici's afterward. Killian had a family dinner to go to, I didn't feel like eating anything because I was full on cake and oreo truffles, and Brandon was going straight home. Matt wanted to go out, so he was a little disappointed.

I had a headache for the greater part of the day, and it didn't bother me until I got home. The moment I got home it became worse. It was to the point where I started feeling sick. It is basically why I didn't post a legit blog yesterday.

Besides the headache, it was a really great day. I always enjoy the time I have outside of the home.

Today's music video of the day is a song from my past. I have always loved this video and the song. It's probably the only time I've ever liked clowns. haha. I was listening to it earlier, and decided I wanted to post it not only to show off the video, but to also to show my thanks to all of you. Just listen to the song, and you will know what I mean. :) It's Natalie Merchant's video for "Kind And Generous" of her album "Ophelia"

Not feeling it at the moment.

I'm sorry everyone, but I really don't feel up to writing out a full out normal blog right now. I started getting a headache on the way home from my friend's wedding, and it escalated to a full on migraine. It hurt to the point of me dry heaving when I was standing up. I took aspirin, a hot bath and went to bed for a nap. I feel better now, but I would rather not push my luck.

I will post a blog about today tomorrow. I just need more rest now.

I love you all very much!

Lost train of thought. (BEDA #9)

Don't you just hate when you have such a great idea, and the moment you put pen to paper, it just washes away?

That's how I am feeling right now.

I had such a good idea for a blog earlier today while at work, but since I forgot to write it down the moment I had a little bit of free time, I totally have no clue what that idea was anymore.

So instead of having a topic, I will just talk about random things that pop in my mind, and some of the latest things that has happened as of late.

Aeternitas is in two and a half weeks, and I am so excited. It doesn't feel like it is so close now. I feel like I need to start getting things ready. My mom and I are driving up to the con, and I'm really interested on how things will go. You see, my mom and I can't be in a room together without having some kind of argument. We are both very outspoken with what we have to say, and most of the time they are opposing. We are both Scorpio's, you can tell by how stubborn we are. Hopefully we can forget about our disagreements, and enjoy the weekend with good people and fun events.

One of my co-workers is selling a Ovation Celebrity acoustic/electric guitar for $150. I don't know the exact model, but I know that he said it was originally $300. The first thing I told him was don't sell it! Next paycheck, I will buy it. I have been looking for a cheap but good guitar to learn with, but I am afraid of ordering one online. I would go to actual music stores to look, but without a car, that is kind of hard. I asked my friend, Matt, if I should get it, and he said if you can find one at a reasonable price get it. So I have decided that I am going to learn guitar sooner than I thought I would. :)

I can't think of anything else to write. I really do need to get ready for tomorrow. A friend of mine is getting Married, and I need to make room on my video camera, charge my batteries for my picture camera (Yes I have two cameras. I have no shame.), and figure out what I'm going to wear.

Today's music video is one from a band that recently formed. This is one of the bands that I can say I have been following since the very beginning, and all because I was a fan of the lead singer! :) The Band is SUMO CYCO and the song is "Mercy". They have yet to release an album, but this single is available on iTunes. All the proceeds for that and their other single "Limp" go to help aid Japan after the Tsunami/earthquakes that happened weeks ago.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I've got you covered. (BEDA #8)

As a side note to yesterdays blog, I feel I should have posted Reel Big Fish's "Don't Start A Band" music video because it would fit with the theme of it better. Oh well. I can always save that for when I rant about the mainstream music companies. :)

Anyways I just thought of something I can do on Fridays. I'm not sure if I want to make it a thing yet, but I thought I would make a blog series called "Music Video Friday". I would come up with a theme and post five or six videos to fit said theme. You all an tell me if I should make it a thing or not.

This week I will be posting cover songs! Who doesn't like a good cover? Not many bands can pull it off, but when you find a band that can, it is like magic to the ear drum. These video's to me encompass that feeling.

The first one is a video by Save Ferris. I don't know what it is about Ska bands, but they can make some of the best covers I've ever heard in my life. "Come On, Eileen" is a classic song by Dexy's Midnight Runners, and I love it. Save Ferris takes it and makes into a song that any Rude Boy would Skank to. They played this version at the Firvolity Ball at Infinitus, and I couldn't help skanking (I promise you, Skanking is an actual dance!) You listen to this cover, and try not to dance in your seat! I dare you!!! Tell me how you succeed in the comments!

I just made the decision to make all of these bands Ska bands. For two reasons. One: I have been on a ska kick since yesterday. Two: I have to get ready, and I already have in my mind four or five covers by just Ska bands alone. :)

Two of the video are from one of my favorite bands, Reel Big Fish! I love them. I don't think I've heard them cover a song and it suck!

This first one they covered and recorded for the movie BASEketball. If you watch through the movie, you can see them play their song "Beer", which fits the movie perfectly. Anyway. They covered "Take On Me" which was originally released by A-Ha. Another 80'd classic that I love.

The second song is "Monkey Man". The original version was released by Toots and The Maytals. This is a song I can truly say I have never heard of until I heard Reel Big Fish sing it. I like the original, but I think that Reel Big Fish's version fits it a bit better. Reel Big Fish released a cover album back in 2009 called "Fame, Fortune, And Fornication", and they included this song, just re-recorded from when they released this video in 2006.

The Next band is Goldfinger with their version of "99 Red Balloons". I love both versions of the song that Nena sings (The Original version was sung in German and is called "99 Luftballons"), and I like the punk twist that Goldfinger gives it. Not only that but the incorporate some of the German lyrics in at the end as well. Goldfingers version has appeared in two movies: Not Another Teen Movie and Eurotrip.

The video of the day is from Fishbone. They did a cover of "Date Rape" from Sublime that I instantly fell in love. I first heard this when I was watching the DVD "Look At All The Love We Found: A Tribute To Sublime Live", and it was awesome. I haven't heard a tribute album like that in a really long time. It wasn't about the bands performing, it was about paying tribute to one of the most influential bands of the 90's, and help those in need at the same time! I found out shortly after I watched the DVD that Fishbone made this video, and I couldn't stop watching it! It was awesome, and now I share it with you all.

I hope you all enjoyed this. If you all liked this I might make it a thing. I have a huge vault of music video knowledge that I want to share, and this would be a good way to do so on top of the daily videos that I already do. Just let me know in the comments! :)

Anyway, I need to go get ready for work. I hope you all have a great day!

My beef with Guitar Hero and the like. (BEDA #7)

Before I get into the serious discussion, I just want to let you all know how weird I can be during the day. Earlier my foot was twitching really bad, and I sat there for a good ten minutes just watching it! It is so weird looking that it fascinated me. I am so amused by the simplest things. :)

Alright! Onto my rant. I am going to tell you about the conversations leading up to what brought up why I don't like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Our conversation started off with me hearing a song on his Zune that I knew. It was the Christian Band Pillar. He told me that it was one of the albums he got off my zune (I let him borrow my Zune because he was lacking awesome music and I have plenty of it!). I thought that he already had it because he knows more about Christian rock (and Christian music in general) than I do. He grew up on Christian music like I did with secular music. He said to me, "If it has the word Jesus in it, then I probably know it." I told him I could probably prove you wrong on that. He said, "Well if it put Jesus in a negative light or says something bad about him. Unless you could that song on Guitar Hero." I told him I don't play Guitar Hero or Rock Band because they simplify instrument playing. We made jokes about it, and I also said, "It's kind of like Dance Dance Revolution players. They may be able to do every single step to the game right, but if you try and teach them a dance routine, odds are they would have a hard time."

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are fun games to play. I get that they are just for party entertainment, and to have a good laugh. I even play them when I'm with friends, and enjoy it. I just think the games are a little misleading.

I have met some kids who get so upset when they are trying to learn to play an actual guitar, and complain about how it is not simple. It's not suppose to be. Learning an instrument takes a lot of practice and patience. It is not as glamorous as these games make it out to be. Being in a band is actual work. For some, it is a job. Yes to entertain and express yourself, but it does take effort.

It is also a way for the big name bands to make themselves know just a little bit more and make a little more money. Now every once and a while they will feature relatively small bands, and I give them props for that. I would have given Rock Band even more props if things went through with that program that let any band make their music available to play. That would have been ground breaking!

The singing feature is another thing I don't like. You could just hum random stuff and as long as you have it on the line your fine. NO! That is not ok!!! That is pretty much giving the middle finger to the person that wrote that sound. You are pretty much saying, "I don't care about your music, You can bite me." I just don't appreciate that. These people pour their heart and souls into these lyrics (Some more than others), and you pretty much just poop on them.

There are other things, but I don't have much time to rant, and I think I went on long enough. I promised my mom I would wash the dishes, and I will do it darn it!

The music video for today is from a band who had their music in a video game...not Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but MVP Baseball 2006. It is also a song I transcribed for music theory class in high school. It is The Zuton's video for "Don't Ever Think Too Much" from their Album "Who Killed The Zutons"
Who Killed the Zutons

I hope you all don't hate me for speaking my mind about a well loved game. :)

A Day Wasted. (BEDA #6)

Have you ever spent an entire day working on something, and you wake up the next morning to find that all your work was for not because their is not a trace of it left?

That's what happened to my Pokemon game... 11 hours down the drain. Apparently the save function is faulty because it saved and I turned it off and turned it back on to play some more (addiction at work), and it was perfectly fine. I guess if it is left alone for a while it just says, "Hey this person will never play me again. I might as well just wipe my memory clean. That will show them!"

Oh well. I can either play the game and leave my Game Boy on until I am done with the game, or just wait until my brother gets to transfer all of his level 100 pokemon and really rare items from Silver onto his game. I have no idea how long that will take because he still has yet to send me the picture of the theater sign. I think I might just go do that one myself.

*Goes to fetch Eric's cell phone*

Success! Now I just need to send it to my email address, save it to my computer, and then I can post it!!!

So now we are probably going to get more calls about what is playing because our sign is no longer capable of doing so. haha

I had a conversation with Killian tonight about my thoughts on Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Dance Revolution when he was driving me home (I'll post my thoughts on those later on this week). It was pretty interesting because he somehow segued it into a conversation about the Killer's music video for Human. I love having conversations that can just weave into one another. I tend to have those kinds of conversations with Killian and the guys a lot which is why I like hanging out with them.

I think I am going to post a Killer's video since I did just mentioned that I talked about them today. haha Except I'm not going to post Human. I am going to play what I think is their weirdest video. It's "Spaceman" from the album "Day & Age"
Day & Age

Well I hope you all have a great rest of the night, and Peace Out!

Storms and Pokemon taking over my day. (BEDA #5)

Last night there was this huge storm that blew threw most of the south east area of the US. It was pretty bad. Luckily we didn't get that much of it. We mostly just got the really bad winds, a severe thunderstorm, and about 5 minutes worth of hail. I didn't think that there would be that much damage done to our area, but I always tend to be wrong about these things. Earlier today, my brother got a picture message from our boss, and it was of our sign with huge gapping holes in it. My brother showed me it and instantly cheered because he hates having to put the movie titles on that thing. I asked my brother to send me the picture so that I can show you all, but I doubt he will send it to me until like tomorrow or something. More than likely I will have to post that picture tomorrow. *Crosses fingers*

Like the title says, Pokemon took over my entire day! Besides going to the library, the grocery store, the bathroom, and the kitchen to get something to eat for the three meal of the day, I haven't left my room. I was sucked into the world of Pokemon Gold. Now before you say, "That is such an old game, why not play Black or White?" I don't have a DS. I own a Advance, and my brother this morning found his old silver and gold games so that he can try and transfer them to his DS and to his copy of Black. He would not under any circumstances let me play or even touch his DS. haha. No matter what Pokemon game you play, you will still get hooked to it. Pokemon and World of Warcraft have the same addict-ability (I know that is not a word, but it suits this coversation.)

Instead of finishing the book "Lizard" by Banana Yoshimoto (Lizard Which that has to be one of the best pen names I've seen!) like I planned, I sat around and beat two gym leaders, evolved four Pokemon, hatched an egg into Togepi, and have gotten so flustered because I can't beat the Goldenrod city Gym leader! (Curse you Miltank!!!!)

I've always loved Pokemon, but I have to say that I am a purest. The first 150 Pokemon plus Mew and Togepi will always be the best! I don't know if it is because I basically grew up knowing the pokerap by heart (Don't ask me to recite it now because I couldn't do it, but I have it on my wall!), or because Blue and Red were the shiz, but you can never beat the original product no matter how you try to spruce it up. Also The TV show is nothing without Ash, Misty, and Brock. I think Brock is by far my favorite. He is probably the only character in all of children television who could be a total hornball and still get away with it! :)

Today's music video is one of the coolest I seen in years. The video is "Her Morning Elegance" by Oren Lavie. It is from his album "The Opposite Side Of The Sea"
The Opposite Side of the Sea

Well I am going to get back to trying to destroy that Goldenrod gym leader!
